When an individual sustains injuries from a motor vehicle crash, muscle spasm, and inflammation develop from soft-tissue damage resulting in pain. The most common injury is a whiplash injury, however often the midback and low back get injured as well. This muscle spasm prevents the normal range of motion of the spine and misalignments occur throughout the spine and other areas of the body.
Whiplash injuries can range from mild to severe. Injuries tend to be more significant when your headrest is positioned too low and you are rear ended, or even with a front end collision. If the impact was quite severe it is likely that muscle, tendon, and ligament tissue is damaged. If these injuries are not treated properly and in a timely manner, as the injuries heal, scar tissue will form, resulting in chronic issues years later.
Many people are surprised to find out that the majority of work injuries do not occur because of serious accidents. The truth is that many injuries in the workplace are a result from overuse injuries. Each year in the United States millions of dollars are spent to help individuals with these problems.
Have you been told that you have a" slipped disc" or have a disc injury? They can vary from slight to severe, but most require the attention of a trained chiropractor. Our chiropractic clinic can help you understand your condition and help to develop the best treatment option for you. The spinal discs are made of cartilage and are the "shock absorbers" of the spine.

Dr. Barrick is great, he listens, identifies the issues, and is very knowledgeable and skilled. After being with the same Chiro for 15 years in Central Maine, then moving south, I doubted I could find someone I liked, but he proved me wrong! I highly recommend!

Dr. Barrick has always done a really good job ensuring that I leave feeling 100%. He is quick, friendly and responsive to whatever pain you may be feeling. I've seen other chiropractors, and none of them have provided the level of service that I'm able to find with Dr. Barrick.

So I have had horrible knee pain over the course of the last two years that I attributed to playing soccer. I've been to the doctor and was unable to see improvement. It got to the point I couldn't climb or descend stairs easily. Dr Barrick took one look at my gait, made a recommendation. This has been the most mobile I've been in two years. Also very easy manor to deal with.
