Mr. Ahmed A. Rayner, Sr. was born in 1893 in Calvert, Texas. He graduated from Prairie View A & M University in Prairie View, Texas in 1911. Following his graduation from Prairie View, he migrated to Chicago, Illinois. He eventually became a graduate of both Worsham College of Mortuary Science (in 1914) as well as a graduate of John Marshall Law School (in 1934).

I had my mother’s funeral here.
Her face was so swollen when she died that I wasn’t sure we could have an open casket.
When the day came for us to view the body I was beyond impressed.
Somehow they got all the swelling to go down.
My mom looked like my mom, just asleep.
I think that’s the most important aspect of a funeral, for your loved ones to appear how you remembered them, and AA Rayner nailed it, all the way down to her hair and makeup.
Also, somehow my family proceeded to go home in the limo without realizing I was missing.
AA Rayner made the arrangement for the limo driver

AA Rayner is a top notch business, my family has utilized both facilities west and south for many years including my cousin Mamie Till for her son Emmett Till who was killed in Mississippi which played a part in fueling the civil rights movement. There is no question as it pertains to excellent services, from inception to completion, they’re reliable, consistent, timely, and affordable, meeting all our needs.

A.A Rayner assisted our family with the home going of my father. The staff was warm and welcoming during a very difficult season. Both Pam’s were awesome, the makeup artist is Phenomenal which gave our family a sense of peace. The drivers that took us to the cemetery were outstanding and didn’t make us feel rushed as we paid our respects. I am grateful that God placed us with a staff that made us feel like we were a part of them.

Some funeral companies that have been around a long time might become too businesslike and forget the soft touch needed in this profession. NOT AA Raynor & Sons! Every point of contact was warm and professional. Today, I sat down with Ms. Owens, the Funeral Director, who was kind and lighthearted (she joked with my 2-year-old-grandson and daughter whom I took with me) yet professional and thorough. The prices were reasonable, and the facility was beautiful. They have plenty of space in their parking lots. I am grateful for them.
