I have always loved helping others, working for many years in special education. Although this work was near to my heart, I had a strong beckoning to be involved in a more natural, whole body form of wellness, and preventative care. I practiced yoga for many years which led me to the path I am on now.
The Traditionalist: Massages included in this bracket are the tried and true: Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sports, and Prenatal. Please note: Sports and Prenatal are priced differently as they are only offered in 75 min sessions. We offer couple's massages. Please contact us to set one up. Sugaring is an ancient hair removal technique which removes hair from the root allowing for less hair in an area for 3-6 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle. Over time Sugaring will cause the hair to grow in finer and sparser. Sugaring is a safer alternative to waxing, especially for those with skin sensitivity.

Quite possibly the best massage I’ve ever had. The attention to pain points was unparalleled and Shannon made sure to check in which made me feel comfortable for my first prenatal massage. I'm updating my review from 3 stars. I had an ok experience. The massage was relaxing and pleasant, but too light for my taste. The owner Shannon let me know that she would make it more clear on the website that this particular therapist only does a lighter pressure style of massage. She offered me a free massage, which I appreciated, but declined due to my own embarrassment over getting a free massage after leaving a not so great yelp review. I'm sure Shannon would've done an excellent job, based on all the fantastic 5 star reviews left by other clients. Moral of the story, make

Shannon at awaken is awesome. Personalizes every massage to fit the needs of her client. Recently I went in with an injury and was unable to turn my neck all the way to either side. She fixed that problem in one treatment. She is a jack of all trades as is her team... and you don’t have to worry about “getting the bad masseuses”... because they are all fantastic!

I am so grateful to have found Shannon as a massage therapist and Reiki practitioner. These are the services I have experienced, but I am confident in her abilities to try many more! Every appointment has been an amazing experience. She takes her time, explains the process, and provides feedback after the session. I have been seeing Shannon when I can for almost 3 years now. She is my go to person for a relaxing massage, or when I need help. Recently I went to her with issues breathing because of the tension in my back. She helped me tremendously. She is very intuitive when it comes to the body's needs. We have also done a couples massage with her partner Jorge who is also amazing.
The prices here are more than your chain massage places, but only by ten dollars and every penny is worth it. They will work with you at Awaken, remember you, and will give you a massage that you will 100% use to compare

I love my monthly facials with Shannon (and miss them very much right now). From my first appointment, Shannon expertly reduced my redness and brightened my skin. Over the last few months, I've seen such an improvement in the clarity and texture of my skin. I also love that she uses clean, organic products. I received this prenatal massage as a gift and could not be more pleased with Shannon! She asked me if there was anything in particular bothering me, and I mentioned the carpel Tunnel issues that I started experiencing during my pregnancy. She massaged my arms and wrists so well that I haven't had any pain since! She listens to your needs and really addresses the problem areas.

Booked a lash lift and tint with Shannon and was so happy with the results! My lashes were noticeably more lifted and opened up my eyes a lot! Shannon was amazing!!! Within a couple minutes of my prenatal massage I thought "this is the best massage I've gotten in my life". I've had so many massages where I think "I wish they had used more pressure, focused on the areas I had asked about" etc. this was the first time I was able to fully enjoy. The environment is super comfortable and Shannon's warm personality makes it a very relaxing experience!

I can't say enough good things about Shannon and Awaken Massages. I went in to her feeling a little apprehensive because I had just moved back to the Chicagoland area from San Diego where I got acupuncture/massages biweekly and was afraid no one would be able to live up to my old MT. My work consists of sitting at a computer for really long periods or doing a lot of upper body work which both really tend to take a toll on my neck/shoulders. After the first few minutes with Shannon I knew I was going to love her. She's a very calming energy and she talked me through what she was doing
