The original owners of the Iron Horse in 1972 were Marion and Dudley Tremble, Bill Noonan and Lee Tremble. Now Lee is getting ready to pass the torch to his son Sean! Sean has been working at the restaurant since he was 16 years old, starting as a bus boy and working his way up to learn every aspect of the business.
Every year we serve over 100,000 customers, many of which are regulars. We were ranked "Best Fries" in Bergen county by the Bergen Record, and "Best Burger" more than 3 times by 201 Magazine and others. Many of our employees have left us to become: Chefs, Doctors, Lawyers, Asst Attorney Generals, Members of Rock Bands and Successful Business People.

The food is always great! The waitress was awesome but the boys helping the waitress were stalking us. We were still eating and they kept wanting to take our plates! We went for a early dinner so it wasn't even that busy! Guys relax! Other then that the stuffed burgers, Buffalo shrimp were fabulous!

Food its good but the only problem the service has to be more faster I order food for pick up I drive about 20 minutes and then I wait 15 minutes outside and the order still not ready the workers keeps telling me needs 10 minutes and take about hours and 15 minutes for just 4 items and the things thay make pay and wait for my order I really feel sorry for the owner he has to bring more workers in the kitchen but I will never come back again.

The Iron Horse is a classic local establishment that I'm happy to frequent regularly. Their food is consistently good, and I love their stuffed burgers and soups too! Been coming here since my kids were little and it still one of our favorite places. Their staff are always friendly and attentive, and it just has a nice vibe and honestly I've always had a pleasant, fun, experience there.
So many businesses have been affected by the pandemic, labor shortages, inflation, and I'm grateful that when I go there, it still feels like it always has - comfortable, cozy - and most of all

So, this place has obviously been around forever. Honestly, it’s in need of a makeover…and some air freshener. Immedielty when you walk in, you’re hit with this smell of old carpet, old man, funeral home type smell. It’s so off putting. I haven’t been here since I moved to the area almost 18 years ago. A friend of mine and I came in cause we were craving some French onion soup.
The soup was good, but not good enough to come back. The smell was so strong, it was uncomfortably quiet, you could hear everyone’s conversation in the dining room. We were going to walk out after a couple minutes

I try to get to the Iron Horse whenever I'm back in north Bergen County. The food is great - but don't make the mistake of calculating calories - the portions are very satisfying, and satisfying the prices are very reasonable. The free starter of pickles and Cole slaw is great. The train themed atmosphere is also enjoyable.

I heard about their stuffed burger and wanted to check it out. Wasn’t disappointed at all! Probably the best burger I’ve eaten. Couldn’t stop eating it and the meat was just as good as the cheese center. Definitely make sure to come here and grab a bite! French onion was amazing as well. It was one of the best I’ve ever had if not the best.

What a wonderful way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The Iron House was always one of my favorite places along with Hong Hing on Old Hook Road and Lisa's Pizza .
For me, growing up in Westwood, New Jersey was always peaceful and happy.
I am so happy I had the chance to share a meal OUTSIDE with an old friend at The Iron House.

Perfect day to enjoy outside dining. WE got complementary coleslaw and pickles individually portions, COVID prompted. The slaw was vey good. I had the California veggie burger. It was just perfect. I do not like imposible meat. The mixture of veggies that make this burger patty is on point my husband and and so man got the same burger, the original stuffed cheese burger both were cook at different temperatures and they were very pleased with the cook. My son asked for shoestring fries. He says the are way better that the Railroad Tie Fries.

It was a quiet Sunday night at 6:00pm. Wife and I waited 5 minutes for someone to greet and seat us. Waited another 10 minutes at our table, no one ever came to the table although the waiter went twice to the table next to us. A three top was seated after us, and a waiter took their drink order.
We up and left and complained to the manager who was apologetic but too little too late. Our waiter seemed like a deer in headlights when he observed us talking to the manager.
This place needs a better system, very frustrating. No one needs that stress when dining out!

I had a surprise birthday party for my mother on August 11,2019, I live in Long Island , the rest of my family along with my mothers friends live in various parts of New Jersey. Sean was amazing to work with. I was able to plan and book the entire party via email.

Great spot, right next to the RR tracks, for a nice cool refreshment, delicious burger, sandwiches, salads or other light fare such as chicken wings. Warm, cozy feeling in this somewhat sprawling and interesting layout of multiple rooms for dining and imbibing. All sorts of nostalgic pictures and memorabilia. I had lobster bisque soup which was excellent. We both had a plain burger with the piping hot, scrumptious french fries. Also, the sangria was nice and fruity. Tasted a bit like Yago. (See photos) The service was attentive and quick. In sum, we were well satisfied.
