When you're in emotional pain and need help, choosing a therapist may feel daunting. Many people avoid seeking counseling because they fear their careers, reputation and even family will be adversely affected if people found out they were in therapy. We understand those are valid concerns when seeking counseling.

You will work with a warm, kind therapist who is highly trained with more than 30 years experience. As a couple who spent 25 years together, we've had LOTS of experience with couples therapy. Working with you was by far the most nurturing and insightful counseling experience either of us has had. At Blue Spruce Counseling I work with people who are searching for the highest quality counseling.
My clients are committed to making significant changes to their lives and want to recover from past hurts and negative patterns - not by covering them up with a bandage - but by spending the time and energy to make deep, lasting changes.Dr. Pam Gaynor, now deceased, established our counseling center in 1977 and I joined the practice in 1982.

Underwood helped me change my path to one that is bound to succeed. She helped me to realize that I am a strong person and I have what it takes to be happy in this world. She helped me by being patient and persistent as I found my way. These words are only a fraction of the gratitude for the work she did with me, my life has transformed!
As a Master Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), I enjoy using it as one of my tools to help you change attitudes, beliefs and behaviors. Most people have deeply ingrained beliefs - formed in childhood - that are the basis for many decisions in their adult lives. These beliefs are underneath attitudes and behaviors too.
My life and work are much fuller, more satisfying and successful because of working with Dr. Underwood. Doing so has enabled me to move forward more intelligently and gracefully with insight and tools to take into every part of my life. Put simply, people matter. Dr. Judy Underwood's life coaching practice revolves around this fundamental assumption: that you-your ambitions, your challenges, your inspirations-matter greatly.
People often wonder what therapy is like, how it works, and whether it works. Here are some questions and answers that may make you more comfortable contacting us for help. I provide psychotherapy, counseling, therapy and life coaching to clients who work with me remotely by phone and video conferencing.

Dr. Underwood worked with me during a difficult time in my life. She helped me get through the pain I was experiencing and taught me tools to work though other tough times and to better prevent future crises. Great therapist to work with, very resourceful, non-judgemental, patient, compassionate, and persistent.

I have worked with Judy for many years, and always found her to be very helpful and a wise advisor. Our counseling sessions are very effective, probably the result of her years of experience, depth of knowledge and great personal skills. She is caring and patient, and her easy going and non-judgemental style are important when we discuss very personal issues. And she knows when to just listen, if I feel that I have to vent my feelings. Even when it’s hard, something good always comes from talking with her.
