Surf Ready Fitness
Our goal at SRF is to help you feel better while moving more efficiently and pain free. We are a sports performance gym that helps surfers of all levels improve performance thru functional training methods. It's not about lifting heavy weights or performing exercises that have zero carryover to your sport.

We approach our programming scientifically which has yielded results for over 20 years. Our coaches are qualified with degrees and multiple certifications in which we have dedicated our lives to this industry. We guarantee our clients a safe and structured training environment where everyone progresses.
Services
Surf Ready Fitness (SRF) is a gym for surfers, plain and simple! Open since 2012, we cater to surfers, weekend warriors, moms, dads, groms and anyone that wants to improve their fitness. We're currently operating out of a 2400 sqft warehouse about 1 mile from the beach, located in Costa Mesa. Our gym is not a typical gym though!
Our surf training classes consists of a dynamic flexibility warm-up, power, strength, agility, balance and core training. Our program is based around "surf specific movements" that will get you surfing better in weeks. We use TRX suspension trainers, Indo-Boards, light kettlebells & dumbbells, stability & medicine balls as well as other equipment.
Whether you're suffering from a cold or flu, battling a migraine, experiencing jet lag, seeking relief from sore muscles or chronic pain, waking up from a long night of over-indulgence, or just low in energy, IV hydration and injection therapy is the quickest way to help improve your symptoms and get you back to feeling your best.
If you're looking for more personal attention or have a specific goal in mind then maybe personal training or semi-private training would be a better fit than our classes. Our SRF Staff Coaches have years of experience customizing individual performance programs which we will tailor your specific goals.
Do you surf to stay in shape or workout to catch more waves? Or just surf because you love it? You most likely answered YES to at least one of these questions. Regardless of your answer, we all want to get better at surfing and even if you don't enjoy working out, there are ways to improve your performance without stepping foot in a gym.

Epic workouts, friendly environment, helps a lot with my mobility in general (not just for surfing, snowboarding) and relieves my back pain big time.

Fantastic place!
I dropped by to get some pointers on getting more "surf fit" and specifically to help with popping up. Paul worked with me and gave very personal training advice on stretching and working on my core muscles. I was impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. I will be back!

I've been going here for about a year and half now. They have done an amazing job on reshaping my body and improving my surfing. The staff as a whole is great and they pay close attention to every workout you are doing. When my form isn't correct they are on top of it to correct it and limit chance of injury. Also when going on surf trips they will design workouts to the style of wave you will be surfing.
Example: Salina Cruz
Mostly long or intense right hand point breaks so they design the workouts to replicate that kind of surfing. Lots of front side pumping on indo boards, breath

I have been working out at Extreme Athletics consistently for a year and half now. As a life-long athlete, swimmer and water polo, this has been a tremendous gym for keeping in great shape after my years in structured athletics. Both the Boot Camp and Surf classes are a great option, strength and agility accordingly, even if you don't surf at all such as myself. Great people and small class sizes as well!

I have been working out my whole life and tried many different types of gyms from cross fit to Pilates. Although they are good forms of exercise, this gym is by far my favorite. With a full time job it's hard to get out in the water, so when I can I wanna be sure I'm fit to shred. The surf classes are perfect blend of strength and surf conditioning. The exercises are surf specific to help muscle memory when your unable to surf. As a weekend warrior this gives me an extra layer of confidence that can make a good session a great one. Highly recommend you try.

If you're reading this you're halfway there. Take the next step and experience a workout that will get you to an entirely different level. I'm no employee, I pay my money and put in 3 days a week at the best gym in OC. I drive from Dana Pt because I can't find anything like this gym. Never been a gym person, not muscle bound weight lifter, just work each day, surf weekends and likely twice your age. Not only a gym for surfers or Extreme Athletes; far from it. Young and old alike, girls Boot Camp, groms, surf specific training, just people looking to improve their fitness at

This is a great gym and the owners are very dedicated but the trainers that rent the space aren't always quality. Had a horrible experience with this trainer, Naomi. Have been using her services for around six months and had to cancel the last month that I paid for with cash up front. Asked for a refund and was denied and talked down to. Apparently this trainer hasn't given a refund in over ten years although I never signed anything or was even verbally told that refunds were not an option. If you are a business owner, then you have clients sign your terms. If nothing was even MENTIONED

What a great place to workout. I've been so bored with conventional workouts that I decided to give this place a shot. Working out here is a lot more fun than working out on my own. It was nice to work with Jon, who definitely knows what he's talking about. Extreme Athletics is definitely a place that will help you achieve your goals. I will be back!

This gym is unlike any gym you've ever been to! The owners Jon and Paul are so educated in what they do and truly care about getting you into a great and healthy shape! I've never been the type who liked to work out and now I'm addicted! I've been coming here since they opened and have noticed so so many changes in my body! Not only is it an amazing and fun work out but these guys will go above and beyond and help you with nutrition and even put together some helpful workouts for when I'm traveling! They really do love what they do and it shows!! I recommend this place

Extreme Athletics is an awesome place to train. Not only is the sport specific training top notch, but the trainers there are the absolute best. You will see drastic improvements in your athleticism in a very short amount of time, including enhancing your strength, flexibility, balance, and agility. The programs they write out for you are very specific to your specific body type, experience, and build. Overall, I can't say enough good things about this place.

Okay, for someone that gets bored of working out at the gym I'd have to say that your workouts are AWESOME! You keep me on my toes by changing up the workouts which helps my ADD type personality. Your instruction is very thorough in working out muscles I didn't even know I had! I especially enjoy your surf workouts because they are exciting and unlike any other fitness class I've ever taken. I've noticed that I paddle stronger and have more endurance especially on the OH days out in the water.

The confidence your workouts had instilled in me allowed me to accept a last

I have been coming to this gym for almost a year now, which for me is a big deal. I attribute this consistency to a few things:
1. The owners Paul and Jon are rock star trainers who take a vested interest in your physical success.
2. The workouts change and are always tough
3. The clients who come in are friendly and fun to workout with
4. The results keep me coming back.
5. Jon and Paul focus on form, form form. They understand that incorrect form can lead to injuries so they stress the fundamentals.

I have seen a lot of results from being here which include:
1. Weight loss
2. Increase in muscle

These guys are the real deal. If you want to get n shape, or simply surf better, this is the place you want to go. I recently moved to HB and have been using groupon, living social, and amazon local to check out gyms. I have tried everything, but so far no one has come close to these guys in terms of knowledge, experience, or results. These guys are very personable and knowledgable. If you want to try a real workout, give them a call.
