Our dentist is specially trained to administer medications that can help a patient relax during dental care. In addition to sedation, patients in our dental office who have procedures that are likely to cause pain also received local anesthesia by injection. Staying current with the latest technologies and techniques is something I'm passionate about because a patient's comfort and oral health is my primary concern. Dr. Coombs was born and raised in Salem Oregon. Upon graduating from North Salem High school, he took time off to live outside of the United States, after returning to Oregon he attended Portland State University and graduated cum laude with a degree in Biology.
The office staff is very helpful and nice. The office is clean and Dr. Coombs was very thorough in explaining what needed to be done. I appreciate knowing the expected cost at the beginning. I highly recommend this office. I found Dr. Coombs to be informative and explained things in a way that made it simple for me to decide on which procedure was best for me.
We are Premier Provider and Preferred Provider (PPO) for MODA /Delta Dental insurance company. We also accept most other insurance companies, and as a courtesy we will gladly bill your insurance company for your services. In order to keep our fees as low as possible, we ask that payment be made at the time of service.

The entire staff at Sunnyslope are phenomenal. Their care and compassion are beyond anything I’ve experienced in a medical office and Dr. Coombs expertise far surpasses any dentist I’ve dealt with in the past. He’s both extremely skilled and exceedingly kind, and he’s top notch with kids as well. Do not visit this facility! We recently moved here from the southeast and called Sunnyslope to look for a new dentist. Upon arriving the first thing I noticed was the doctor, nurse and receptionist behind the desk without masks. The desk was not separated by any type of shield. I came into the office with a mask on, which has been ordered by the Governor of Oregon. As I sat in the waiting room completing the new patient paperwork, other patients came in without masks. I questioned the receptionist on their mask policy and her only response was, 'I am sorry'. Any medical facility

I was very nervous about going to see any dentist. Life got busy and I hadn’t been in over 4 years. I needed a new dentist and Dr. Coombs was amazing. He definitely calmed my nerves. Nicole, the hygienist, didn’t just ask question she engaged in a meaningful conversation. The office manager was welcoming and made me feel right at home. The office was very nice and comfortable! I left feeling very happy that I finally found a dentist that I look forward to going back to in 6 months rather than dreading it.

I called them this morning and they were able to fit me in for an appointment. Despite the short timing, they took it apon themselves to do a couple of extractions today and relieve me of my pain. They were all very friendly (especially the receptionist at the front desk), and the doctor was very good at making sure I wasn't in pain and answered any questions I had. I look forward to a long term dental relationship with sunny slope dental!

Dr. Coombs is my husband, so there's no doubt that I love his dentistry skills. But what patients should know is how much he cares and takes pride in everything he does for his patients. We spent many long nights remodeling this office and creating the perfect space for our guests. The office has the best technology and a dentist who is constantly improving himself. Come see us!

I have been looking for a Dentist for a few years after moving to Salem. I tried several offices none of which would even get back to me with a dental plan. I knew my case was extensive. I found Dr. Coombs and he not only put together a plan but was excited to help me restore my teeth. He offered me several options and explained them so I could make the best decision based on my desired end result and budget. His office is very nice, his equipment is modern. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. His staff is very kind. I have recommended him to all my friends and family.

This is my favorite dentist by far. Everyone in the office is so friendly and helpful. And above that they really care about you as a person! They take everything into consideration and give you options. Explain everything in detail and make sure you are comfortable with what is happening. Recommend them to everyone!
