Shafer Insurance Agency was established in 1900 in Byesville, Ohio by the late John B. Shafer. He moved the agency to Cambridge and ran it until he passed in 1923. His son, L. M. "Bing" Shafer, obtained his insurance license in 1921 and continued the family business until 1977. Third generation, John R. Shafer, joined his father in the agency in 1956 and continued the family legacy for 63 years.
Mindy has been with the agency for 24 years and became agency owner in 2020. She is able to write business in personal lines, commercial lines and life and disability insurance. She enjoys working with clients to help assess their needs and come up with a plan to find the right coverage. Jacilyn has been with the agency for 8 years.
