Services
Meadow Brook Animal Clinic offers indoor, climate-controlled boarding facilities to pet owners in the Birmingham, Pelham, and Mountain Brook area. We maintain a low pet-to-staff ratio so that each dog receives individualized, personal attention from our trained and caring staff. In addition to our indoor facilities, we also have a 6000 square foot, well maintained, fenced-in back yard where dogs can play and attend to necessary business.
Laura has been with Meadow Brook Animal Clinic since 2005. She is married and has a son in high school who towers above her, and a sassy toddler who is obsessed with SnapChat. When Laura is not loving on your fur babies at Meadow Brook Animal Clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family swimming, camping, target shooting, going to yard sales, and completing furniture rehab.
One of the most neglected aspects of pet health is dental care. A fact that you may find surprising is that regular dental screenings and oral hygiene can actually add years to the life of your pet. As with people, oral disease in pets begins with bacteria in the mouth that harden and form plaque that adhere to teeth.
Diagnostic tools such as x-rays are critical for veterinary hospitals for the simple reason that our pets can't talk to us and tell us that something is wrong. Sometimes, an external exam does not provide all the information a veterinarian needs to determine the overall health of your pet. An important diagnostic tool that we use at Meadow Brook Animal Clinic is digital radiography.
At Meadow Brook Animal Clinic, we realize that sometimes you need a little help keeping your pet clean. You may be tired of wrestling your pet into the bath, nervous about trimming nails, and overwhelmed about how to detangle those mats. Well we're here to offer you some assistance with grooming your pet.

My sweet boy-cat was infested with fleas over a period of approximately a week! He stays indoors, with the exception of my balcony, which is on the 3rd floor. I am still not sure how in the world this happened. Dr. Cox is a great Veterinarian. My boy received three (3) shots and didn't make a sound. Staff is very friendly and professional. They provide a quote on prices, before proceeding. This is great! I highly recommend this clinic!🐈🧡🧡👍👍🐱

Thanks to the staff for taking care of my fur baby while we went on a quick vacation. Only thing I wish were different were the hours for pick up on Saturday. I do understand the cost of keeping offices open just for weekend service. Just missed my sweet girl. Thanks again for all the love and care given to her in my absence. We’ve been using Meadow Brook for over 25+ years. (I was 6 when my family got our first puppy, and now I’m 32, with a dog of my own and a dog who passed away last year from cancer) Allll of that to say, we couldn’t live without Dr.Cox and MBAC. He is so patient and attentive to our animals. And he’s been so caring to our family to help us as our dogs crossed the rainbow bridge. I cannot say enough good things about Meadow Brook Animal Clinic. Dr. Cox and his staff are compassionate and understanding without sacrificing professionalism, it's like taking your beloved fur baby to see your best friend. Dr. Cox had only been our vet for a couple of months (we just moved to the area last year) but he and his team treated us like we were long time patients. He even took a call from me during business hours to answer some questions about my dog's deteriorating health. We love Meadowbrook Animal Clinic. Dr. Cox and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. Dr. Cox is always up-to-date on all the new meds and vet care. He prescribed apoquel for our Great Dane for all of his allergies and itching before many other vets could even get the drug! It helped our Dane so much. He suggested a more friendly diet for our shepherd mix and she is much happier! Great place! I strongly recommend this clinic!

I had an emergency with my 11 year old boarder collie & they saw me right away. They took such good care of him, Dr. Cox talked about how great of an old school boarder collie he was and gave him treats as he treated him. Curtis Lowe is doing so much better now and inbelieve Dr. Cox diagnosis will prolong my old pals life! All of my dogs will now be forever patients.

Dr. Cox and his staff are wonderful with all our animals! I shared the YouTube video (I couldn't be there) of Sam with my coworkers, they were very impressed with him. Just took my baby girl up there for the first time, for what I obviously didn't know was just allergies (thank goodness)! The staff was friendly and they were all wonderful to me and of course my dog. We were in and out in less than 45 minutes! Definitely would go back and recommend to any pet owner!
