Jeffrey Leiker is a former County Prosecutor who has been able to devote his practice to the areas of family and juvenile law for the last several years. Practicing exclusively within the District Court of Kansas, Mr. Leiker has developed a firm that is extremely efficient at analyzing cases within this state, specifically within the Douglas, Franklin, Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami, Shawnee, and Wyandotte County District Courts.
If you have been living in marriage for a period of 60 days within the State of Kansas, you are entitled to have your marriage dissolved by Kansas if you so petition. Most Kansas divorces are initiated under "no fault" grounds or what Courts refer to as "incompatibility." Child custody issues are often included in divorce matters, but may also involve separate jurisdictional grounds.
The adoption of a child is an incredible responsibility to undertake, and something that people choose to do under a number of different circumstances. My kids are my life. I was stuck in an abusive relationship with my ex, mentally and physically, and Mr. Leiker helped me way beyond expectations. I thought that because I was a stay-at-home mom that I would get destroyed in Court because my husband made all the money. Mr. Leiker quickly proved me wrong at the very first hearing. Jeff is currently representing me in a high conflict child custody case that has been ongoing for about two and a half years. Although Jeff has just recently become involved with this case, he has wasted no time getting up to speed on everything. I hired Jeff for a horrible divorce in Johnson County. Restraining order, child abuse, parental alienation, and a spouse with mental health issues refusing to settle the divorce. Jeff has handled everything perfectly. He's patient even when I've been at my wits end with my spouse's behavior.
