Like many Bay Area businesses, Merch Monster started in a garage. I needed a change from my career in IT project management and decided to revisit my passion for making physical products. A few years prior I started an online t-shirt company, and worked with many screen printers. There were numerous challenges including non-existent customer service, lack of quality control and unpredictable delivery times.
Embroidery is thread and needle decoration typically applied to hats, jackets, dress shirts, work shirts and golf shirts. We offer both flat stitch embroidery and raised 3D puff embroidery typically found on baseball caps. DTG printing is a newer digital printing technology that excels at reproducing complex artwork with a high number of colors such as photographs, paintings and drawings without the setups required in screen printing. If you want to reprint a job previously done by another printer, we can reproduce it exactly IF you provide us with a physical copy of one of the items. If you no longer have a copy, we will do our best but we may not be able to match the print sizing or colors exactly. Photos are helpful, but we cannot reproduce an item exactly using photos.
When you start your project, Merch Monster can recommend thousands of shirts for you. Choosing a shirt to print on is the same as buying anything online. There's a myriad of options, each with their own unique quality and feel. After you submit a quote request, Merch Monster will work with you to determine the goals for your project and recommend a couple of options that will work best for your project.

I thought to give Merch Monster a try, based upon their attentiveness with a virtual hands on consultation and prices. They seemed very professional. As a designer, I have worked with screen printers before but my experience with Merch Monster fell far short of expectations. A cardinal sin, for some reason they resized my design arbitrarily, so that it (and they wouldn't give a refund) was 1/3 the actual size. On the other hand, they enlarged the logo more than the size I uploaded, so the whole design looked off. Then, it appeared they used DTG (direct to garment) instead of actual screen

Wasted time with a zoom consult with Kyle. Passed on all the files requested, what I wanted, designs, etc. Was told I would be given an estimate in 3 days. Nada.
Waited over a week for an estimate. Nothing.
Sent an email to follow up. No response.
It's been two weeks now.
Good thing I have another print shop.

Working with Merch Monster was great. My org and I wanted to place the order before leaving for Christmas break and was hoping to receive the delivery no later than New Years. Mike and his team has always gone above and beyond for me when printing shirts. Each time I have called Merch Monster, they were very responsive and very flexible with our request for a quick turn around. I get frustrated when asked to design a shirt last minute for an event that is literally four days or less away. The Merch Monster team makes my life easier by coming through and delivering on my orders. I always walk away happy and appreciative of their work. I should've written this review a long time ago but glad I had time to do so now. Seriously, they're the best to work with in the Bay.

Really ripped us off. Mike implied they had masks they made in 3 ply from an overseas manufacturer, and that he had about 12K in inventory. I told him I needed to get a fellow distributor's order filled for 10,000 pieces until our order arrived that was being held up. I told him about the pricing that the fellow distributor paid and that I was going to buy his mask to cover those since mine were another week or two out. Mike then turns around and ships mask from a supplier all 3 of us use in their packaging disclosing the real cost of the masks. Additionally, Mike had me send him shipping labels

Waste of time , took for ever with my simple image they first gave me a batch of my image super small and i told them to re do it they they got the image semi right and didnt clean up my image wen we first talked in person and just through it on a shirt and gave it to me thats $1,000 dollars down the drain here they dont take small independent people serious more like a joke smh this place is full of excuses

Merch Monster is an amazing company to print through. Samuel Merritt University loves to support local businesses here in Oakland and Merch Monster is the quality of business we all should strive to be. The nonprofit I work for has placed many large (and complicated!) orders with Merch Monster and every one has been executed flawlessly. Could not help me do something similar to the lady who was in front of me. Although stated other shops would do it, but you can't? Mind you I only needed 3 shirts and the person ahead requested a large order. I asked could he make an altered version, got no help. In fact the assistant had do go upstairs although he had time to talk to the white woman ahead of me in person. Another negative, I didn't receive a "hello" or "I'll be right with you" while I patiently waited for about 5-10 min. He was not flexible, just no. Didn't even offer suggestions.

I had this review deleted by the Yelp Communtity I'm guessing because it wasn't to their liking which is bs so here it is again... I live in fla, but own a company in Clovis ca and went to this place for my employees shirts for the business. Never will I ever do that again. The most judgmental and rude people work there and if I was the owner I'd press the reset button and clean house, but hey I'm sure the owner is the same way. Mike and his team are the best! I wanted to get some last minute shirts made for a friend's jujitsu competition and show up with a bunch of friends wearing his face on our shirts. Mike totally busted these out in no time and they looked flawless!

When it comes to choosing vendors for anything, my only requirement is amazing customer service. Mike and his team at Merch Monster were awesome!--straightforward with pricing/delivery and fast replies. Also, he was very accommodating in doing weird and small quantities with different brands and colors of shirts (so I can test them out).
The product is also great! I waited a couple weeks to let him know how I liked it so that they can be worn & washed a couple times and the printing is holding up really well. I love the quality. I also really liked the sizing & positioning of the logo
