Dr. Watkins graduated from Centre College in 1996. He got a degree in studio art with a focus on glass and ceramics. After receiving a Masters of Education from the University of Louisville in 1999, he went on to teach art for six years in the Jefferson County Public School system. It was while watching an episode of "Extreme Makeover" that Dr. Watkins first made the connection between dentistry and art.

The entire staff receptionist, assistants and Dr. Watkins were extremely welcoming and professional. I am very uncomfortable at dentist offices but Dr. Watkins and his staff were very friendly and comforting. He and his staff repaired a chipped tooth and gave me an overall exam. And I left there office extremely satisfied with his work and the result. I highly recommend anyone to consider his practice for your dental needs. I will definitely be referring and returning to his office.

Watkins Family Dental is the best. I have always dreaded going to the dentist because of past experiences (fillings done incorrectly, being over quoted, etc.), but they have changed my perspective. Everyone in the office is nice and welcoming, and Dr. Watkins is honest, clear, and works quickly but precisely to make sure everything is perfect. I don’t ever feel that they’re pressuring me with unnecessary or costly services like other dentists have done in the past. I haven’t had any issues since going to his office and highly recommend his services!
