My dog got hit by a car last week I ended up calling our normal vet (best friends) who told me they couldn’t take him at the moment I called two places in Savannah who also couldn’t take him and university in statesboro also told me they couldn’t take him but soon as I called gateway they told me to bring him in and they’ll see what they could do so I appreciate that❤️ He ended up being okay and is still doing great Hunter Lamar is the one who treated him along with his staff and I would just like to say I’m grateful for y’all being there.

Let me first state that my opinion of the practice has nothing to d with the professional veterinary quality of De. Gary Edwards. He is nd always will be a fantastic, caring vet. Now in the past year there have been much problems with the admin staff. Nothing to do with Covid. Appointments are sketchy at best. Sloppy front area and much gossiping and eating in the bull pen. Use of patient owner names in public area. Lack of sharing of information from back to front necessitating inconvenience to owners. VERY impressed with our experience at Gateway!! Shoutout to our nurse, Natasha - she was so awesome from start to finish and kept me updated the entire time our sweet Grace was with them. They were swift, professional, and really put a dog moms heart at ease! We were highly impressed and will definitely be recommending them!!

I can not thank Dr. Lamar, the vet techs, and front office staff enough! They were able to work my furbaby in right before the holiday week and even though they were extremely busy, they would call twice a day to update us on her status! Thank you for all that you do for our furbabies, it does not go unnoticed and unappreciated!

Gateway Animal Hospital is unquestionably the best place in the area to take care of your precious pet! The first time I went there was 11 years ago with my first dog and we had her fixed in the middle of heat. They did such a fabulous job and everything went so smoothly! A few months ago I called to make an appointment for her again because of a tumor and she was still in the system! Unfortunately the tumor was malignant and not an ideal situation for surgery. So yesterday I had to make the decision to put her to rest and this was my first experience with that. Dr. Gary and his staff were wonderful

The doctors are fantastic and the staff is wonderful. However, if it wasn't for the unhappy, cold and distant employee that unfortunately is the first one you meet when you walk in I would have given 5 stars. Everyone thought that her nastiness was due to her pregnancy-unfortunately she had her baby and she is still miserable. She should work in the back and not have any contact with the public or her co-workers.
