Most workers are entitled to receive workers' compensation benefits when they are injured in a workplace accident. Benefits can include medical costs, transportation to and from your doctor and two-thirds of your weekly income for the time you are unable to work. In rare cases, claimants can receive Vocational Rehabilitation/Supplemental Job Displacement Benefits (SJDB).
People getting hurt and sick at work is extremely common. A work injury can occur from a single accident, like dropping a heavy object on your foot or cutting your finger on a machine. Another cause of injury is less obvious. Repetitive stress or continuous trauma (CT).

When a worker performs the same physical action repeatedly, day in and day out, there is a strong chance of that activity resulting in a repetitive stress or cumulative trauma injury.Carpel tunnel and wrist injuries are common for office workers, and back and other large muscle strains are more common in industrial settings.
As a worker covered by workers' compensation insurance, you are entitled to benefits that pay for medical care if you are injured while on the job. However, getting medical care is another story. Workers' compensation insurance companies want to keep their claim costs low, so they often deny claims or prematurely terminate benefits.
Until the date the claim is accepted or rejected, liability for medical treatment shall be limited to ten thousand dollars ($10,000) payable by the workers' compensation insurance carrier. In the past, the state did not have official guidelines for medical treatment. Generally, workers have been entitled to treatment that is reasonable, necessary and related to the industrial injury.

Mr. Fowler fought hard for me and didn't let the insurance company screw me the way they would have without him. The man really knows his job, and does it well.

If you want a sell out and someone who will work for the defense this is your law firm. I made the terrible choice of hiring Fowler and Ball only to be brow beat and made to feel like I had no case. Only to have yet a confirmed condition by the Head of UCSF nuerology for exact condition which he claimed i didnt have and could never prove even after many doctors diagnosing me. Had I know the day of my deposition he was in the hall speaking on a first name basis with the defense I would have never settled. Now I'm left with a condition and all its bills. Head my warning
