Within an hour of opening keep in mind not very busy. This place was out of two things I wanted to try. They need to prep more when you only have a handful of tables. Not sure if I will try this place again. Sandwich had no flavor for a French dip the two bites I ate. Fries where good and the the pickle. They didn’t even offer to get me something Different or discount it. This place is pretty basic for the price.

Great local place. Lots of beers on tap. Food menu is limited, but everything is pretty amazing. Best Ruben I've ever eaten.

Had a perfect Sunday lunch. The food is fresh & delicious. My husband enjoys the variety of beer choices. A unique local restaurant with a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Absolutely a place you have to visit! Great atmosphere even better food! The beer wine selection is always broad and never disappoints. I will be back and bring friends. The bartending service is top notch especially G! This is one of my top recommendations.

Took a day trip to Tallahassee from Port St. Joe for errands and a FSU basketball game. Looked for an interesting place to eat and found McGowan's. Extensive beer and wine menu with food choices that suit everyone's palate.
We started with tot nots-fried pieces of Gouda grits with magic sauce. Absolutely delicious. Smoky, crunchy with soft interiorZ not sure what is in the magic sauce but it is yummy. We then shared a granny smith Gorgonzola flatbread with chicken. The crust was crispy with just the right Amount of toppings. The crispy, tart green apple played well off of the salty strong

A shockingly good spot that is kind of hidden way up north.
A few standouts. The shepherds pie (cottage pie) was good and the pork rinds were excellent.
The beer selection is very respectable and the service was great.
Friendly place with good beer, good food, and good service. This is a place I'll certainly come back to.

I love this place. Every time I go, I have a fantastic time; The food, the beer, the wine, the atmosphere, are all absolutely wonderful. I just got back from my third time there and I believe the bartender's name was Leah and the server's name was Rachel. Both AMAZING. Even the customers, I have gone by myself and struck up conversations with some of the regulars and they are all delightful, as well. Just a great place.

The game was about to start and the place was about 2/3 full. We were seated right away and our drink order was taken quickly.

We ordered an appetizer of an mac n cheese eggroll and a Reuben eggroll. They were both delicious! The bacon in the mac n cheese was the star of that bite!

For dinner I ordered the McGowan club with fries and hubby had the fresh dip and fries. He says the au jou was perfect, not overly salty.

Was there on Friday night with a bunch of friends. While Peking is a nightmare the food and drinks make up for it. A must go is the bacon flight. Staff is very friendly and on top of things, food comes out fast, owners even check on you if all is good. Overall a nice atmosphere and some gluten free options.

They offer flights, which is nice, so we enjoyed trying different beers and ciders. Food is average. In a newer plaza on the north side of town.

First time visit and completely enjoyed the friendly staff. Our entrees served, my husband enjoyed his "fresh tuna salad" sandwich with Fried pork rinds! I enjoyed the "Ahi Tuna Tacos" appetizer, plenty of foo, full of flavors! We will return and enjoy other items on the menu! Thank you for such a great new place to go to!

I stop by McGowan's fairly regularly and have yet to be disappointed. The proprietor and the staff are all very friendly and do a great job. The beer selection is very broad. The menu has interesting twists on traditional pub food that are all delicious and inexpensive. I especially love the bacon mac and cheese. Whether you get it served in a steaming hot bowl or in egg roll form, it tastes wonderful. I've also enjoyed their shepherd's pie, flatbreads, and tuna tacos. My kids love the kid's pizza and the mac and cheese.

Great local hidden gem! Husband and I found ourselves on Thomasville road around dinner time with no idea what we wanted to eat and drove around the area looking for anything that caught or eye. This little bar seemed a good bet, and we were so pleased with our first visit, we came back the next day! On both days we ordered the star of the show, the smoked yellow fin tuna sandwich. AWESOME! The first day, we tried the tater nots as an appetizer, and they were a hit! Smooth fried grit bites and their "magic sauce" is the perfect dip! The second day, we opted to switch up the appetizer

If great service, amazing food, and friendly atmosphere something you hate make certain to avoid McGowen's.
The menu is amazing and delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The owners are on site to meet you and make certain you visit is everything you wish it to be and so much more.
Great location for a quit bite or a 3 hour hang.
Can't wait to come back soon.
Also, if you don't try the pizza dip at least once than you're a communist and should be deported!!! It is absolutely amazing and delicious!!!!

As the pandemic appears to be winding down, we've been venturing out more. Last night it was a visit to McGowans where we sat outside. They have plenty of outdoor tables in different sizes, and we appreciated that they had both rocking chairs and straight backed chairs.

We started with beer. They have a fantastic beer list and will bring you samples of anything. Their 4-beer flight is an excellent choice for the indecisive or curious.

For apps we did the big pretzel and fried okra. For the pretzel we ordered beer cheese and jalapeño mustard. The beer cheese was very thick... thicker

Fantastic lunch in dinner spot in Bannerman! Food is always fresh and the atmosphere is very welcoming and family friendly! Went here to get dinner one time and now it is a weekly thing! Highly recommend!!

McGowan's has a great beer selection, and great food! This isn't the place to find typical bar food, this is a place with some yummy and different food. Try the blue cheese chips, or the ahi tacos, conch fritters, the grouper Ruben, or get the classic French dip *note - ask for a side of the beer cheese with the French Dip.* Enjoy your visit and don't forget to tip generously!

Staff is not professional and that's all I'm looking for. When I walked in to a business, I would like to enjoy with positive atmosphere. It is not happening here. I didn't feel welcomed at all.

1- You mentioned "we do not participate in third party deliveries" please see below screenshot or basically go to UberEats app to see your restaurant's full menu available to order for deliveries. So you do participate in third party deliveries

The cauliflower and sangria were absolutely to die for. The fried green tomatoes were good but a little plain. They had lots of varieties of flights and a lot of unique items on the menu.

1st time! And on St Patrick's day. Had 3 perfect specials for the day. I went with the guiness beef stew! The stew was great but my new favorite food of all time is the Ruben egg rolls!! Insanely good! Service was top notch and whole staff super friendly...

Love this place, my wife and I go for lunch about once a week if not twice a week. The french dip sandwich is GREAT and the pork skins are fantastic.
Staff is spot on and super nice and the owners are always willing to chat with you.

Looking for a great lunch place you found it.

One extra note: told them the sandwich was coming out cold and they fixed it on the next visit. So, if you have a problem let them know they will fix it.

Both the food and service were very good. We enjoyed the flights of beer and wine. I tried my 1st Reuben sandwich. Quite good. Like everything else on Bannerman, the place is kinda pricey. Alcohol helps to ease the price pain, I suppose.

Went here for the first time tonight and got greeted immediately and sat at the bar. We were served by Crystal and if we needed anything else Jessie was our man. They both had amazing personalities!! 🤗
We ordered our wine, one mild red and one sweet white for wetting our whistles. Food wise we ordered the granny smith flatbread (added prosciutto, recommended from Crystal, glad we listened to her. It was yummy!), bacon flight, poutine and French dip sandwiches with brussels sproutsand a balsamicglaze. Everything was scrumptious.

The pork rinds are amazing! They have quite a few gluten free options and are very accommodating to food allergies. I had the bratwurst special and really enjoyed it.

They have a very large selection of beers and wines. We sat on the patio due to social distancing requirements and had a very enjoyable meal. I can't wait to go back and get the full experience when things are back to normal.

Originally I thought this was an Irish restaurant which I was really excited about since we don't have one in Tallahassee. Nope, just American food with some unique appetizers. The restaurant itself is much smaller than I thought but the service was impeccable. They were packed but the hostess/server was so incredibly kind and reassuring she would get us a table quickly. Their beer menu is very impressive, and they let you try beers. I ordered the Mom's Bacon Mac n cheese and my friend ordered the pizza dip. Both were very tasty! I enjoyed the pizza dip more than the Mac n cheese. But

The crunchy, bacony, creamy Mac and cheese egg rolls were delicious and the BBLT was better than expected. The little tray with condiments was cute and very clean. Actually, the entire restaurant was clean.
I came back again with 3 others today and had to have the bacon flight. It was OK.
I like this locally owned place and will return. The pastrami was very good.

This is a good place with very friendly service. The beer selection is terrific and the food is pretty good.
I asked for a change in lettuce from arugula to a not so bitter lettuce, but was told they don’t do substitutes. This was a put off. Hopefully the food comes in line with the terrific service and beer selection soon. Right now, the food quality does not come inline with the price.
