I am originally from Edison New Jersey. My wife and I moved to Floral City Florida shortly after we were married in 1974. I am a veteran who served in the United States Air Force. After moving to Florida I became a Forest Ranger for the Division Of Forestry for 11 years fighting forest fires throughout the area.
Downtown Inverness has many unique shops to stroll through and restaurants where you can enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner. Visit the Heritage Museum and store in the old courthouse which was built in 1912. Scenes from Elvis Presley's movie Follow That Dream were filmed in and around the old courthouse.
Visit Floral Park which has a disc golf course, one mile paved path, basketball court, tennis courts, racquetball courts, shuffleboard, children's playground, picnic tables, barbecues, and two covered pavilions. Dog walking is allowed on the paved path. Going through Floral City is the 46 mile long Withlacoochee Trail.
