Brenda Popplewell limits her practice to Criminal Defense, Civil Rights, Student Rights, and Appeals. Brenda Popplewell approaches every criminal case on its own merits. We work closely with our clients to determine their goals and concerns. By working together, we give our clients their best chance at a successful result. We have the trial skills and dedication to help you navigate the criminal justice system.
All citizens accused of a crime have the presumption of innocence and an excessively high bond cannot be used to punish someone who has been charged but not convicted. Brenda has obtained bond reductions and pretrial release for her clients at the Circuit Court level. Brenda has also successfully appealed the Courts' failure to reduce the amount of bond to the Kentucky Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Supreme Court.
Federal law protects the civil rights of all Americans - rights we have as citizens of a free country. Civil rights represent basic principles of democracy and fairness, and protect our individual abilities to live life on our own terms. Because of that, whenever another violates a person's civil rights - whether the violation is by an employer, a police officer, or a government agency - the violation is deeply personal.
School bullying is unacceptable and intolerable. Brenda Popplewell has held schools accountable when they have failed in their duty to prevent bullying and to protect their students. Bullying not only compromises the overall learning goals of educational environments, it threatens a student's right to attend classes on school campuses that are safe.

I contacted this office to acquire about a family law issue.
