Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about us! We'd like to introduce ourselves and offer what makes our veterinary practice DIFFERENT. Sharing our lives with animals is a privilege, and it's something that changes you. These four-legged creatures who can't talk, but somehow speak directly to our souls.
Just like humans, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. There are many facets to preventative care for animals, like vaccinations, parasite testing, and diet plans. Below is just a small list of what we discuss with each of our clients and the pets. Even though we discuss these lists with each client, each pet is still treated as an individual and their health needs are taken into account.
We have many pieces of equipment designed to provide the care you deserve for your furry family member. Because your cat or dog can not talk, we have to rely on tests to give us some of the information we need. However, a test is never a replacement for a good physical exam, so we always combine your pet diagnosis with physical exams (and a complete medical history).
Our facilities are equipped with modern anesthesia medication, monitoring equipment, and surgical equipment. Each patient receives an individualized plan, including pain control. Additionally, each of our patients is monitored by a trained staff member at all times while under anesthesia. Finally, they are wrapped in warming blankets throughout surgery and recovery to make their stay with us as comfortable as possible.
Dental disease is very common among cats and dogs. By some estimates, 75% of cats and dogs over the age of 3 years old have dental disease significant enough to warrant treatment. Dental disease can affect many organs in mammals. Making sure your dog gets dental care or you cat gets dental care is important to their overall well-being.

At first, I found this place to be difficult. The end result was supposed to be a teeth cleaning for our 12 yo chihuahua, Ren. They needed to give him an exam and run some tests. That’s understandable since anesthesia is involved. At pickup, I was told I would be emailed a cost estimate for his teeth cleaning. Great!
Well that email didn’t come and his scheduled appointment was approaching so I called again and asked if they had my email. They had it because they confirmed last time but alright. Yes, that is me and here’s my husbands email. A couple days later, they called to tell us not

Very professional and warm staff! Really seem to want to do a good job. I brought our new St. Bernard puppy here for his shots and wanted them to advise us as We have noticed Bear has a missing toe and padd from his back leg. Very satisfied with the explanation and proposed treatment. Poor guy needs surgery!! Ugh.
Also, it took 3 rounds of antibiotics for a terrible UTI, but it finally is gone!!! I like that we were able to solve the problem!!
The front end staff are fantastic! There all very friendly and accommodating!! Brook came out to get bear for a follow up appointment and had to lift this

Am not very happy with this facility.
The employees are unfriendly and sarcastic.
The care that is given is more like being neglected on a daily basis.
They talk a good talk in the beginning when taking the tour. And then it's totally the opposite when you move in. I would not recommend this if your thinking of finding this type of facility for a loved one.

They took the BEST care of my furbaby and were very affordable! When tragedy strikes a loved member of your family unexpectedly, you worry- not only about their well-being but about an unexpected cost as well. The professional, friendly staff here treated us like FAMILY, completely understood and addressed my concerns regarding cost and getting good care for our dog. I’m HAPPY to say she is doing so very well after being treated here and Prairie Side will always be our forever vet!
