We are a small animal practice - meaning we mainly treat cats and dogs. We do have a few veterinarians on staff that also treat "pocket pets" such as rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and rats. We only have one veterinarian on staff that treats reptiles such as snakes, turtles, iguanas and other lizards.
Of our 7 currently practicing veterinarians, five are full time and two are part time. Do you have a particular doctor you prefer to see? Let us know when you schedule appointments! Does your pet do better with female vs. male veterinarians? We're happy to accommodate for that as well! We are by appointment only.

My baby Smooch had huge kidney cancer. Dr Heart and other Drs were supportive and always returned my calls for anything from pain meds to emotional support. 8 months later, I put him down. The staff and Dr Heart were so sincere. They even called me back after I made the appointment to put him down. I was hoping for more to be done. I just moved here before Smooches diagnosis. I did my research and picked Grayslake Animal hospital. They are the best veterinary clinic hands down and I am a old lady. There was also a woman Dr but I don't know her name. I think no matter who takes care of your kids

Excellent service that communicates clearly what to expect and how everything is to be handled. A pup had gone through a neutering and returned brimming with energy (which may have just been his character). The vet had shared the instructions to post-op care with documents and prescriptions. Friendly service from start to finish, apologies for not remembering the technician's name that had helped us in the end.

Great place and awesome people! We have been with this vet for 20+ years. They recently helped us get vetsulin for our Zeno after he moved to Wisconsin with our daughter and had a problem with the new vet and needed the medicine over a weekend. They are busy but do everything they can. Thank you for taking great care of our Zeno !

Sorry.... correct. Wrong hospital. Maybe if more 24 hr emergency pet places closer to our home Ingleside/ Round Lake, our pet would still be with us..... Unable to completely remove. Either keeps original post or won't let me leave site. Again apologies. Still bitter about losing our baby.

Been to about 4 different vets for my dog's allergies everyone gave me a temporary fix with no permanent solution. I was happy to go hear and they finally gave me a permanent solution so we know how to address the issue in the future. Great vet decent prices. And their not pushy on the extras which I like.

I absolutely DO NOT recommend Grayslake Animal Hospital. Even as an established client, the staff and owners felt the excuse that they were “too busy” and “they would get back to us when they could” was acceptable to deny care for our dog who was experiencing respiratory distress. Our multiple pleas for help were dismissed, so we were forced to… seek emergent medical intervention elsewhere after waiting hours for Grayslake to get back to us. We were desperate and trusted the vets at Grayslake to get back to us, but while we waited all day, our dog’s condition

We used Grayslake Animal Hospital for year before me moved 40 minutes aways & loved them. We recently had several horrible experiences with the local Vet.
My 5 pound teacup chihuahua has had pancreatitis 4 times & it always took 2 appts and the pushed expensive tests each time costing $175 to $320 at EACH visit. They local vet refused to prescribe… the life saving meds unless we did the $200+ blood tests first. With all we have spent, it was unnecessary. They cared mire about making a lot of money that if my dog died a horrible painful death from no meds.
So we called GAH & they

I’m so disappointed with this Animal Hospital. They have turned away my sick pets twice in the course of a few months. I recently moved to Grayslake in March. I needed to establish a new local veterinarian for my four dogs and two cats. In April my cat became ill and they would not see him. Because of Covid they would not accept new clients. Ok,… crappy but understandable. I had to drive 1 1/2 hours each way back to my prior veterinarian. This was for many appointments. In late June, I wanted to bring one of my dogs in for a suspected urinary tract infection. They still refused to

Doctors were kind, but the entire experience was disorganized. Had an appointment for 4:30. Arrived early and were told that they are running behind due to some emergencies— it’s a hospital, so I get it. We asked if we had time to run some errands, they said yes, and that they’d call us once they were ready. Our dog is reactive, so the waiting room… needs to be cleared out before we can enter— they were aware of this. We typically wait in the car or go for a walk around the area. On our way back from running the short errand, they called us to say they were ready
