Welcome to Carter Funeral Homes, Inc., where our dedicated funeral staff strives to bring you courteous service, family devotion and ease of mind! Mr. Clarence E. Carter, Sr., was a renowned Funeral Director and Embalmer in Lorain County for more than 45 years, he met Alruth Carter from West Point, Mississippi and the two were joined in marriage.

They shared their dreams of owning their own funeral home and the dream came to pass in 1968. With Clarence known for his excellent embalming and Alruth for her outstanding speaking ability, the husband and wife team began building their business. Over the years the two managed to stay active in the community helping as many families as they could and maintaining their business.

JD Scott was called into eternal rest. JD was employed at the Lake Terminal RailRoad Company of Lorain, City of Lorain Sanitation Division, Lorain US Steel and Ford Motor Company. He leaves to cherish his deepest memories his 6 daughters: Carolyn Ann Phillips of Lorain Ohio, Doris. The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
