As a brown person, I'm always looking for excellent South Asian dining options as a way to skip cooking for the week. If you've ever made South Asian food, you'd know it's some of the most time-consuming cuisine to make. Hence why there are so many terrible South Asian restaurants that take short-cuts in terms of cooking or using quality ingredients.

Always excellent, whether dine-in or take out. Standout vegetarian dishes, best tikka masala in town, and great service keep us coming back.

Restaurant has rats! I saw a huge, over a foot long fat rat run through the dinning room while eating there last week. I'm still disgusted.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. We have ordered (for delivery) thrice in the last three weeks and have been at the restaurant frequently with our friends. We like the preparation and the portion size. Today, I placed an order for delivery (the order was for 100 dollars) through Ubereats. I called them to ask them to please send onions on the side (something that most restaurants do). The gentleman on the other side was not exactly polite and refused in a tone that can only be described as rude. I can understand that they can add a charge, but we expected to be treated with some decency

The worst Indian take out I have had since living in Bethesda.Tried the butter chicken based on previous good reviews-sadly tasted like cream of tomato soup mixed with cream to make the sauce, with no fragrant spicing at all.
Lamb kadhu was bland also.
Rice was not fresh,in fact it looked like it was old portions scraped together with brown ends also.
The naan was ok once heated under the broiler, but overall nothing in this delivery was fresh or flavoursome. The only good thing is that i know not to ever order form here again, not for taste or authenticity.

I tried Kadhi for the first time recently. Unfortunately my food was extremely bland. Trader Joe's Indian entrees from the freezer section are more flavorful. Do not recommend.

I ordered delivery from here last night and it is the most delicious takeout I’ve had all pandemic. The saag paneer was perfect. The palak chaat was maybe better than Rasika’s. The naan was heavenly. And what’s better is that I ate three full grown lady meals from this delivery. These photos are just from the leftovers I had for lunch and dinner the day after I ordered and ate my fill! I strongly recommend ordering from here. I can’t wait to eat there after the pandemic!

My go to Indian takeout spot- the food is delicious and the portions are very generous. We usually get 3-4 dishes at a time and they end up being several meals worth.

Can I pick zero stars? Just about the worst meal I have ever eaten, certainly the worst Indian food on the East Coast, not the 'best' as they contend. I have lived in Bethesda for a very long time and always thought it would not be an 'authentic' Indian experience, for reference, I'm married to an Indian. I fears were right. If you want flavor-free, uninspired food with no spice or interest you've found your ideal destination. I will never darken their door again. There is far, far better Indian fare in this city, go explore. You might change your opinion of what comprises

An incredible Indian restaurant! Only have ordered takeout twice but both times have been phenomenal. We love the Butter Chicken, the sauce is so creamy and chicken is tender. Other favorites include the Chicken Tikka Masala and Aloo Gobi. The naan is a must get- ITS HUGE and fluffy. And definitely start out with a samosa!

The Food is Rich and Dense. The food differentiates itself from the Indian food served in other Indian restaurants. The bread is fluffy and the dishes are plenty and rich. I haven’t had Gobi Manchurian like this anywhere in the neighborhood.

This is by far the best Indian food in Bethesda. All the dishes are so flavorful and delicious. Unlike some places that give you like two pieced of paneer in a giant thing of sauce, the whole container was full of paneer. We get take out from here all the time and it's consistently great.

Delicious and affordable Indian food restaurant in Bethesda!
I got the chains masala and some mango chicken with some veggies on the side. The plate also came with a side of jasmine rice.
The staff was very friendly and the environment was cozy.

ALL TIME FAVORITE! Get the panjabi lamb sooo good, we go back here at least every 2 to 3 weeks and get two entrées and an extra side of rice and it last us for 6 meals. The leftovers are even better somehow. The rice is also fantastic.

Usually when go to a new Indian place, I get a dish and then ask myself… is this significantly better than the same dish frozen from Trader Joe’s … the answer was no… it could have been frozen… but the rice and naan were legit good… super chewy naan can really make you feel good .. so 4 stars instead of 3

Excellent fresh, chunky food in good quantities and nicely spiced. You can see the meat and veggies you’re eating rather than everything being mushed up. And spectacular kulfi! We recommend it highly.

Excellent Indian food in downtown Bethesda! The okra masala specifically was fantastic, and the naan was excellent as well (tried both plain and garlic). The palak paneer was a bit too creamy of a base for me, and I did not like the bhel puri (too much sev, barely any tomatoes/chickpeas), but they did pack it well for delivery and you construct it yourself - they provide the ingredients separately including tamarind and mint sauces, so it does not get soggy. I will definitely come back for the okra and naan though!

Palak Chaat had too much oil. The taste was flavorful. Saag Paneer had more heavy cream than spinach. Outside seating, service, and wine selection were very good.

Pleasant surprise to find such good Indian in Baltimore. Ambiance was a little dated, but food was excellent. Chicken tikka masala, baingan bharta, tandoori grill, naan, lassis - all excellent. Rice was delicious (and that's important). Hit all the spots. Solid.

I am so glad they have stayed open during the pandemic. The butter chicken is the only thing our 3 year old will eat consistently l. They always have the food prepared early for our take out as well. If you order from them they offer the butter chicken sauce only which is good to mix with rice. Can't say enough good things about them 5 stars from us.

Kadhai has rightfully been a Bethesda mainstay for many years. The food is consistently tasty, portions are hearty and hospitality is unfailing.

Kadhai's food has grown even better in recent months, perhaps in response to added competition. My recent delivery order of butter chicken, lamb shah korma and saag paneer was perfect. Flavors were rich, comforting and beautifully developed (diner preferences as to spiciness are meticulously honored; the default level of spiciness, perfect for my palate, is medium spicy.) Breads and basmati rice are good-- not standouts, but very enjoyable.

I enjoy

Few friends and I had lunch today. The sitting outside is not as nice as inside. No proper table settings, felt like a picnic. I also like to suggest that Kadhai not to reuse their takeout menus for hygiene reason, because take out menus can not be disinfected. I loved the eggplant 🍆 curry and the goat kadhai…… but I did not realize the shrimp and chicken curries tasted actually the same… overall a nice 👍 place for northern Indian food.

I've ordered from here several times. It's always a solid choice. The meals can easily be split for two or leftovers. I've tried their aloo gobi and saag paneer, and I'm happy with my order every time.

Hopefully, I can enjoy dine in service in the near future.

Thoroughly enjoyed this North Indian restaurant which serves grilled and stewed meat, chicken and seafood, vegetable curries, and traditional appetizers. The portions are huge! Easily shareable between two people. And the naan is soft and chewy. We ordered the bhel puri, a popular appetizer, tandoori chicken, hariyali chicken tikka, butter chicken and eggplant stew. For outdoor seating, guests can avail of a streatery outside that is shared among multiple restaurants on the block.

You'd expect so many good reviews would certainly mean something!!

The price was over the top for an indian cuisine so we were expecting creative modern fusion or absolutely authentic dishes. It was unfortunately none, it was subpar, flavorless and poorly bastardized so called "indian food" !

I know a good Indian dish when I taste one, having tried plethora of authentic creations from different parts of India. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala with Naan. The gravy was so weak and bland almost like a canned pureed pasta sauce with some cream. Chicken pieces were huge and seemed

The goanese fish curry was a little rich, but still very tasty. The lamb sheekh kabab was quite good, but could have done with some more marination. But all, told, it was a nice dinner. The service was prompt and very helpful.
