J.R.'s Caps & Embroidery started as just a small kiosk called U Think It, We Print It in Windward Mall in 1994. We only offered iron-on flock lettering and patches. We also opened a kiosk in Sears Ala Moana as a Holiday concession for Father's Day. Business was so successful that we decided to open our own store in the mall and a larger spot in Sears Ala Moana, and ventured into embroidery.
This made us the first retail embroiderers in a mall in the state. We decided then to close down the Windward Mall store, and work exclusively out of Sears. In 2006 we bought the first direct-to-garment printer in Hawaii. Due to Sears closing its doors, we had to find our own store, and are now located at 320 Ward Ave #116.

There is no minimum for orders. Whether you're a small business, or large corporation, let us help you! Direct to garment printing allows you to put pictures, and company designs on LIGHT colored shirts. We have a wide selection of fonts and threads to choose from in store. If you are looking to do a custom design for shirts or hats, please email us your file in a JPEG format.

Although this review is late, I needed to write it.
I had a Christmas gift (lab coat) that I wanted to personalize.
Clueless about the embroidery industry, I opened up my handy dandy YELP App and found several locations.
Although their hours were short because of COVID, (they open at noon), I was told to come and he'd open the door for me.
Although he was swamped with work, he was very patient with all my questions and showed me the fonts and colors to choose from. I wanted it "perfect" and with the lab coat being white, u can see everything, flaws and all.

Our nonprofit has used JRs a few times for our logo embroidery service. Due to their proximity to Kapolei and their website post of "Due to the increase of COVID-19 cases, we will only be servicing essential workers until further notice", I wanted to get our embroidery done at another company. I understand and can completely appreciate the desire to serve only essential workers during this time, I don't understand why they wouldn't release the DST file to me. As we paid for the set up. I find their decision not to release a DST file to a nonprofit that paid for the service

Wow! Where can I start?! I ordered a beach hat and baseball cap both that say Bride online for my fiancé and I to wear as we ramp up to our wedding next week. I got the box today and the baseball cap was not in the box and it is too late to get it here on time. I was beyond upset. I spent some time this morning reaching out to different embroidery places. This company said to come in. I asked them for the cost and if I could pick up by Friday, and to my complete shock they told me it would only take 10 minutes! Thank you so much! I love my cap and look forward to sporting it! GREAT work

Just put in an order for custom logo hats and they came out way better than I could have expected. They were responsive throughout the whole process, gave clear instructions, excellent prices, patient, quality product, really they hit all the marks. I brought in two items (a towel and a blanket) to be embroidered with names, perfect personalized gifts, I paid 5.00 for each item and then an additional 1.00 for every letter. You can pick the size of the lettering as well as the font (styles on the wall) and then specify where you want it.
It was such a smooth and effortless process and then I paid after all the details were sorted. I

Been searching around and found this amazing place quick response/ turnover and also great price, other place said it would take a few days or a week to get two lines done but JR's cap and embroidery will try their best to be done that day or the next day depending on request, highly recommend this place for embroidery.
Upon requesting my dash cover to be embroidery they did mention that they are behind two hours but they will try to complete it that day if not the very next day which I was completely fine with. They called me back in a couple hours informing they completed my embroidery

Needed a couple of aprons embroidered same day and after calling a bunch of places, some that wanted to charge me over $20 each for - 4 letter name, I found this saving grace of a place. They were friendly and quick, just a few hours. It cost me about $16 total. The parking can be challenging to get to and the spaces are tight if you have a big vehicle. For pick up you can park downstairs out front and run up quickly, which I did.

I've been monogramming my shirts and other fabric items since I was 14, my first experience with JR was when he was working at a different embroider shop and when he and his associate moved so did I...I'd follow them anywhere. THEY under-promise and OVER-Deliver...they "get it" when there's a custom/special order and do it all with copious amounts of authentic heartfelt ALOHA!!! Tell 'em Paul sent you!!! :)

I was in a rush to customize some gifts for a birthday and baby shower for my niece and best friend. I was calling places to see who can have my items ready same day and the most reasonable prices for this. I found my place! I was so happy with the results and it was ready super quick. I'm gonna come back for football season and customize lots of shirts! I believe if you bring your own piece of clothing it's a 5$ charge and the letters were maybe 1.50 each or cheaper can't remember I came last month. But I will be returning for sure!

If you work at Castle Medical Center and need your scrubs embroidered this is the place to go. The service was awesome, I brought in 2 scrub tops, and only paid $18 and some change to have them embroidered and they were done in less than an hour! That's WAY better than Uniforms Hawaii where they charged $15 per shirt and took more than a week!
There are also shops around so you can look around while your scrubs are being embroidered!

If you bring in your own item it can be pricey beware of a $5 surcharge for each item. I brought in 5 baby burp rags valued at about $7.50 and they charged me $25 in addition to embroidery. For a simple name embroidery, I ended up spending close to $60. Additionally, the burp rags are not an item they sell or carry.
Will not return as I believe there is a place in Wahiawa without that ridiculous surcharge.
