If you are reading this, you are probably a descendant of Italian emigrants who sought a new life in the USA, Canada, and Australia. Their unclaimed properties most likely are still in their names even after many decades. The children of emigrants may still be able to reclaim their ancestor's property according to Italian succession law.
It is important when taking this short questionnaire consisting of a maximum of seven questions that one sets aside any preconceived ideas about wills in general. For example, a common misconception is that one must be named in a will to be entitled to an inheritance. Assets in Italy usually pass to the immediate and/or certain family members irrespective of the existence of a will or its contents even after many years.
Italian inheritance taxes on estates under E1,000,000 do not require any tax payments by the "immediate family", the surviving spouse and children. If you are not immediate family, taxes are due in varying percentages depending on the relationship to the deceased. The chart below provides the percentages used to calculate an inheritance tax of the next of kin or other heirs.
Upon the demise of anyone holding title to assets in Italy, irrespective of nationality and living anywhere in the world, the Italian Civil Code speaks to the subject of succession law (commonly called "inheritance") and the subsequent rights of heirs. To see if you are eligible please take 1 minute to complete the eligibility questionnaire.

I found Anthony and Sonia Alioto through a friend's referral. I reached out to this marvelous team last August to ask a question regarding family property in Italy. As it turns out, what I thought was a fairly simple question turned out not to be. They unearthed information regarding the title of the property that unknowingly needed to be dealt with years ago. Had I never reached out to them, this could have cost my family grief and a lot of money. I honestly do not know what I would have done without their knowledge and expertise. This is NOT something I could have handled on my own. They are

My father first found Sonia and Anthony to help with some legal matters in Italy. At his death, I again turned to Sonia and Anthony for assistance. They provided translations and guided me on how to proceed with necessary actions. Not sure what I would have done without them. Sonia is always patient and willing to explain the legal requirements. Anthony is very responsive to communications. After working with them over the years, I would recommend their services.

I was an Executor of an Estate and discovered a potential years old Italian Bank account that was forgotten. I did a little research and contacted Anthony. After a short conversation he wasn't sure there was much he could do. I don't know what research he did but he called me back within 20 minutes and said he believes the account is a little larger than I thought and he wanted to pursue it. The Italian beauracacy was difficult to work with. Anthony and his wife were bulldogs and would not take"no" for an answer. It took a couple of years but they were persistent and we got back 100% of the Funds
