Established in 1980, Kurt Burton Photography has been located in Castro Valley, CA for 41 years, and specializes in senior portraiture, weddings, and school portraits. Our style is often described as traditional with a twist of modernism. We believe that every client and event is unique; having a strong sense of determination, we are inspired to do a better job-catering to all individual environmental needs.

Established in 1980, Kurt Burton Photography specializes in High School Senior Portraits. Senior Portraits at our studio are professional yet casual. Our style is traditional yet contemporary. Our studio also provides private dressing rooms with full length mirrors for your use. For ladies we have many different color boas, white fur drapes, black velvet drapes, and cap & gowns.
Highlight your high school graduation with personalized announcements featuring your senior portrait by Kurt Burton Photography. Our studio provides hundreds of contemporary announcements in all shapes and sizes. Designs can be viewed by coming into our studio for a personal consultation and assistance with wording.
Underclass portraits at Kurt Burton Photography are of excellent quality, highlighting your child's strongest features. Also included in your child's portrait sitting are additional images provided to the school for student visual rosters, CD data-bases, and administrative use.

Once the school day ends, Kurt Burton Photography is on the field photographing sports teams of all types, sizes, and ages. Just to name a few of our favorites: football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, volleball, swimming, badminton, marching bands, and cheerleading-we shoot them all. Our studio does beautiful portraiture and is large enough to accommodate eight adults. We also accommodate outdoor locations in and around Alameda County. If you want the studios name stamped on every photo this is the place for you. I absolutely HATE that it's more about branding the business than about the photo itself. It makes the final print look like proofs . To pay several hundred dollars for photos only for the big KURT BURTON stamp on every photo of such an important milestone is TACKY.
I do take responsibility that I did not read the fine print that warned customers we r paying hundreds of dollars to promote Kurts business under the guise of copyrighting or some BS! Offer consumers the option to pay more to remove this big BOLD brand

Kurt has done several winter balls for a local school district I used to work for and the pictures were fine and reasonably priced... the students and families were happy. This year we did prom through them and Kurt/Deena went above and beyond with a fantastic backdrop and working with lots of students. 750.00 deposit and then students pay for packages of their choice. Photos came within two weeks and everything was alphabetized and by school. The delivery rep came by the time promised I cannot thank you enough for another successful dance!! Everything was a breeze and we could not be happier.

Paid $47 for package F and did not receive key chains. I called the office last week and Kurt's receptionist said that they would mail them to me. Just today, Deana called me back saying that they would not send me my Keychains because I didn't pay for it when OBVIOUSLY I ordered the package, Package F, with the red asterisks that says ***Includes digital files. PLUS: 2 Photo KeyChains(cpl) Then she started raising her voice and yelled at me. Very disappointed with the customer service and false information.

Let me first start off by saying this place is verrry rude and unprofessional of the way they speak to their customers. The owner "curt" is the rudest i suggest if you are going to this place to rethink your decision!! Not only did they try to make us feel stupid on the phone for a problem that could have been fixed so easily they were terrible with customer service! Worst experience ever for me and my family. Smh they should be shut down

Kurt Burton Photography is amazing! Not only have I had photos done by Kurt, but my friends and family use him on a regular basis for everything from senior portraits to family photos. I love the small "mom and pop" business feel that you get over there. You can tell he takes pride in his business and actually cares about taking care of you as a customer. His wife Deena is so awesome too! They are both amazing working with kids as well. My sister has 4 little ones and they somehow always manage to capture the best family photos for them...Kurt is a natural at being silly and doing whatever

I just found out my son's kindergarten picture did not arrive. Unfortunately for the first time I paid with cash, so I could not track. I checked with the teacher and office and they found nothing. The office advised me to call the business directly and I did. To my surprised, Kurt took my words and willing to ship my order to my address. Great customer service and I was truly impressed.

My family and I were disappointed with our senior photos taken here. The photos proofs were very stiff and posed. We retook the photos and had the same problem with the 2nd sitting. We were able to come back a 3rd time and look through more shots and chose a few photos that caught a genuine smile in between the uncomfortable poses. Also, the editing with very minimal, if at all. Not the "professional finish" we were expecting. We do appreciate the option to come in and look at all the photos, but would have liked being sent proofs that looked more candid and natural, and saving ourselves

Had to wait an hour and 30 minutes before we even saw the photographer for my daughter's senior portrait. There was not enought seating for all the people waiting. Never asked if we would like to reschedule. Hope the photos are spectacular and worth the wait.
