Treatment of eating disorders is important to me professionally and personally as I have been in long-term recovery from an eating disorder myself.
If you are a parent/guardian, and suspect your child might have ADHD, I first schedule a meeting with the parent(s)/guardian(s), to discuss presenting concerns. If you would like formal testing, it is important to contact your insurance company, to find out if there is reimbursement for testing. Sometimes, when there is, there are limitations on the amount of time allotted for this.
We all know kids who can't sit still, who never seem to listen, who blurt out inappropriate comments, or don't follow instructions no matter how clearly you present them. While it's normal for kids to forget their homework, daydream during class or act without thinking, inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity are also signs of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD.
