Yes, I love when the light is just right, the leaves are painted with fall, and the colors of my subject's eyes complements the green in the trees. But to me, what makes a picture prettiest is the true beauty of the moment.

Photographing families like yours is my passion. And I am so lucky to have spent the last 10 years doing what I love for a living. I love preserving the simple yet profound beauty in your kids' smiles and giggles, their hugs and kisses, your baby's wobbly steps, and even your toddler's meltdown. My passion is capturing images of real life, happening right before your eyes.
No two families are alike and likewise, every session that I shoot is a unique experience. In the weeks leading up to your session, we'll discuss all the details that will make it memorable and fun. I want to capture photos for you that don't just remind you of how your family looks right now, but also how it feels to be in this moment.
Since the school year was winding down (and bunkbeds were finally back in stock at Ikea), I thought it would be a good time to make the change. This is a portrait of their last night in their room for two. After our bedtime routine was done every night, Florence read, and Julia spent some quiet time alone playing with her Calico Critters.

We have worked with Katie for three shoots now, over the course of five years. The reason we keep coming back is simple, for her. She puts you at ease and makes you laugh, giving us those priceless moments of real relationship captured in film. We have many young children, and each time we have seen Katie, they have instantly swarmed her with question after question - and she has engaged them and answered each one of them.

We finally found the perfect photographer for our family! As someone who worked in film and photography in LA and NYC, I have high standards when it comes to photography, and Katie met them all! She's creative, patient, professional, and collaborative. Some of our favorite pictures were candid moments she captured that disappear in the blink of an eye. A lot of photographers miss those moments, but not Katie - and it really showed in the final product. On top of it all, she was great working with our kids and made them feel comfortable. All in all, we're very pleased and look forward to working

Katie's work is absolutely incredible. Not only are her photography skills phenomenal, she has an awesome personality and was insightful during the whole process. This is our first child, and definitely first birth photographer, so the idea of it was different, but we knew we wanted to capture the moment. Katie has enough experience with this and was able to walk us through the "typical" pictures to expect and asked if we had any moments we'd want her to capture.

We hired Katie for a mini maternity shoot and a full family shoot after our second daughter arrived. We also asked her to create a video of both shoots. Our oldest daughter was her terrible twos self on the days of both shoots, and I was shocked at how many amazing photos Katie got. Katie was easy to work with, and shows in the laid back moments she was able to capture. We are so pleased with the results!

We have had the pleasure of hiring Katie on two separate occasions. First for the birth of our son, and second for our wedding, a year later (sometimes things are out of order). We hired Katie to do a newborn shoot for our first child (a friend had recommended Katie after she did their newborn photos). Katie came to our home and could not have been more easy to work with! She was so good with our infant, we felt immediately comfortable with her. The session was enjoyable and the finished product outstanding! We absolutely love the photos she took and the slideshow she put together. I will be recommending Katie to all of our friends and plan to use her for family photos again in the future.
