In 1975, Marvin L. Morse launched Morse and Co. in a back office of a parts distribution warehouse in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rent was paid by providing accounting services and the firm's only tangible asset was a ten-key calculator financed on a credit card. During the first year, the firm added two employees and moved to a more conventional office location.
