I took my first photography class in middle school, artistically posing my stuffed animals. College -- another class. But the technical stuff didn't stick. Several years ago, I vacationed by a river with my sister and uncle, both avid photographers. I was really excited, ready to learn how to take gorgeous whooshing waterfall pictures.

But my sister said, "If you don't know how to use your camera beyond Auto, I don't know what to tell you." I signed up for another class, and started taking my camera out every evening, leaving my super-supportive husband with the baby. 300,000+ photographs later, here I am. I still love ice-rimmed leaves and heart-shaped rocks, but I've also discovered a passion for portraits -- real, relaxed, happy portraits taken with an eye to beauty.
Services
Mini-Session: If you want a shorter session and just a few preview images, call me to discuss your needs. When can we view our images? Within two weeks of your session, you will have access to an online gallery from which you can order digital images or prints. You can share the gallery link with your friends and family, and they may order as well.
Newborns are special. Their sessions are equally special, needing lots of patience. I allow three to four hours. If I get five minutes before the baby needs cuddling or feeding, and then I wait for twenty minutes, that's okay! Sarah somehow manages to capture dozens of those precious expressions and moments that change and pass so quickly.
My initial edit, done before I upload your preview images to a gallery, includes general exposure adjustments, white balance (color) adjustments, and removal of large distractions. Some of you have experience editing your own photos, and understand the value of brightening, contrast, and color correction.
