Few years ago, my family bought a property that was listed by a realtor at this agency, named Gary. We had put an offer on the house, and we started negotiating the price with this agent Gary. At some point, he told us that he got another offer at a certain amount, and he exhorted us to beat that other offer if we really wanted the house, or else the seller might accept the other offer. We asked him if we could see the written offer, he said that it was not legal for him to show us the other offer. He then proposed that we increased our offer to surpass the other offer by a couple of thousand dollars
