The elevators take forever! It's been a problem since March and it's now July and it hasn't been resolved. You have to wait 20 minutes to go be able to use the elevator.
I moved out just because of the elevator situation, and on my move out day I got a call from the management saying they have only one elevator working so the elevator I had reserved well in advance and had planned my move around could only be used for one trip. The management didn't seem to care about the inconvenience this caused me and didn't even apologize for it.

This building has been nothing short of a nightmare, that includes both the management and what we are dealing with on a daily basis. Do you like waiting for elevators for over 20-30 mins? You're in the right spot. Do you like getting cut off from making payments because you lost income and they won't work with you? Also, in the right spot! Do you like being treated like dirt by management? And not having any of your concerns resolved by the actual property managers? You're in the right spot!! Terrible management is an understatement. If you love being late to work or just in general

That was an interesting approach to a response. (See management comment below)

To use the phrasing of "on occasion" is misleading at best. For the entirety of the 7 months we have lived here, it is the exception rather than the rule that elevators are fully functional. In speaking with several of residents that have been here well over a decade, it isn't even isolated to the past calendar year. Frankly, when giving tours to prospective tenants, the least you could do is be transparent with this being recurring.

Re. scheduling the moves--this might be the most simple to address

The location at Columbus Plaza is perfect for getting around downtown Chicago! Our views are spectacular! The Columbus Plaza apartments are larger and more affordable than most of the downtown apartments.

The management, front door staff, and maintenance staff are very attentive and accomodating. They hosted a lovely Holiday dinner last night following Covid-19 guidelines for the residents.

I would definitely recommend living at Columbus Plaza.

The 2020 Holiday Party was great! The food was great and they even had a full bar. They know how to treat the residents right with restrictions in place due to COVID-19. Will definitely look forward to the next event.

I stayed in Columbus Plaza from 2018 to 2019. Didn't really have any memorable interactions with staff or management, which is probably the best thing you can say about whoever owns/maintains your apartment building. The appliances are on the older side, but they still worked perfectly fine. Maintenance staff was easy to contact and acted quickly if I did need help. The gym is very small, but it got the job done for me, as someone just looking to be fit. If you're looking to get ripped, you'll probably want to pay for a real gym though. I didn't have issues with the laundry

Staff here is just pathetic esp receiving room and office staff . Rather cleaning staff and engineers ate more polite and friendly.

Had a friend who moved here and I am so impressed with it, I'm considering moving there! The office staff was super awesome and welcoming. Anytime my friend has had maintenance issues the staff helped resolve the problem quickly! 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Ps. The views are AMAZING

I have lived at Columbus Plaza for about six months and I have nothing but great things to say! My boyfriend and I moved in during January and they made the move in process very easy with assigned dock hours so you knew when to show up for your reserved time. Any small issue in the apartment was immediately and professionally taken care of by the maintenance staff. The office staff has been very quick to respond to any questions and the front door staff are amazing and really get to know the residents. Elevators only occasionally have wait times during peak hours, but it isn't very long. They

Eight years ago, my husband and I chose Columbus Plaza for its location as well as the proportion and flow of the units (plus, even the lower-floor views are dazzling). We remain because of the staff.

Repairs are made efficiently and to a high standard. The building and its systems are upgraded on a schedule that demonstrates pride and stability. The management staff are unfailingly responsive to requests. In sum, Columbus Plaza is run professionally by compassionate people who have the best interest of the building's tenants at heart.

Absolutely horrible mgmt by Habitat, overpriced rents and huge increases during lease renewal, inconvenient visitor policies, only parking at the hyatt, high utility bills during the heat & AC months, and don't forget about the bugs.

Pros: nice lake views/ good location

Love living here! Super convenient location and connected to the pedway, which is awesome too. Management is good - they keep us informed on the building happenings. Door staff is awesome. I've had nothing break or go wrong so far. The building is very quiet from apartment to apartment. Sometimes noise comes in from the hallway. Some of the best views in the city. Never have an issue with enough open washers & dryers. My only complaint is that it seems an elevator is always broken or in use for a move, so it can take a long time to get up and down, especially after work.

I sublet here in during an internship from June-August in 2012 and loved it. So when I finally moved to Chicago in March of 2013 I knew where I wanted to live. For the location, you really can't be the price. And the staff is amazing. And everything was great, until my neighbor got a new roommate in October of 2013.

I will always say that you can smoke weed all you want, just please don't let it affect *my* air, towels, linens, and upholstery. The smell really does make me sick, which is why I don't smoke it, much less in my own home.

After 14 years of living in Columbus Plaza, I moved out. There's a recession going on--lots of apartments in the building are vacant, more owners are renting their units in the neighborhood--but management still tried to raise my rent and wouldn't offer any concession deals to people renewing their leases, only new renters. There's absolutely no loyalty from the Habitat Company to long term renters, nor are there any amenities here: heat is not included, cable is not included, there's no pool nor fancy workout facility.

I moved to a building up north that is literally half
