Dr. Eckl Family Dentistry is a practice offering dental services to individuals and families in the South Orange County area, providing dental services for communities such as San Clemente, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, Ladera Ranch, Aliso Viejo, and the surrounding areas. Services
Dr. Brent Boyd is a general dentist who provides comprehensive, compassionate dental care. He graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Physiology and Anatomy from California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo. He then continued up the coast to San Francisco to complete his training at the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry.
We accept the following insurance institutions preferred provider option (PPO). In order to confirm eligibility, contact your insurance company to ensure financial coverage for your next dental visit. Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all, of the cost of your dental care. Most plans include coinsurance, a deductible, and other expenses, which must be paid by the patient.
We ask that you make every effort to keep your appointment. However, if you are unable to keep your appointment, we kindly ask that you provide our office with 24 hours notice. This allows another patient the opportunity to use that appointment time. Furthermore, a fee may be charged if a patient does not show up for an appointment without sufficient notice or if a patient repeatedly cancels his/her appointments.
Payment is expected at the time of your first visit. If you are covered by insurance, we will expect payment for your portion at the time of service unless prior arrangements are made. As a courtesy, we will file claims on your behalf with your dental insurance company. If you would like to finance your dental expenses, we work with CareCredit and will be glad to provide you with information about CareCredit and how to apply.
Our office is always open to patients of record, and Dr. Eckl is available most anytime for their dental emergencies. If you happen to call outside of regular office hours, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. If special circumstances require, the office can be opened on Friday, but only by appointment.

It had been an embarrassing amount of time since my last dental visit, so I was so nervous for my appointment. But everyone at Eckl's was amazing - zero judgement for how long I took to get in, everyone was so encouraging of the fact I was there, and my whole appointment was actually kind of fun! Thanks so much to Portia, Rochelle, and Dr. Eckl for being so friendly and attentive, it's clear they love their jobs! This positive experience will encourage me to get to the dentist regularly from now on, already booked another appointment!

Sadly I didn't even get to meet the doctor because the receptionist was rude. I called several weeks ago and asked the receptionist how much it would be for the doctor to look at a chipped tooth. I made it clear that I don't have dental insurance so I was concerned about the cost. She said I could come in for a consultation and didn't say anything about there being a consultation fee. I called and confirmed this was the case as well. Once I went in for my appointment, I had to fill out all the paperwork, only for her to tell me after that there would be a $150 dollar consultation

Dr. Eckl and his team are the absolute best. Prior to Dr. Eckl and went to another local dentist and kept having bad experience after bad experience on top of the fact that he was gauging me on prices.
I also tried to book and appointment with another highly rated dentist but was completely turned off by their "sales" mentality.
Dr. Eckl is extremely personable, not to mention that the experience is as if your friend is working on your teeth. He's done multiple fillings, and a crown for me and I highly recommend his expertise.

Hands down the best dentist in Orange County. Another dentist quoted my mother 1500.00 to fix her bridge, doctor tightened it and it was fine. He is the only dentist I have been to who give a novocaine shot and you don't feel the pain. Eckl's is really honest, and I trust his diagnosis. Far too many times I have been to dentist who say they have to DEEP clean and double the cleaning fee with what I believe is sleight of hand. LOVE DR E!!!!

Dr. Eckl and his entire team are awesome! My entire adult life I have been apprehensive to visit the dentist because I was required to pre-medicate before all dental work due to a surgery I had as an infant. When I made the switch to Dr. Eckl, I advised him of my fears and he was so caring and informative, which helped to lessen my apprehension (and the fact that I no longer had to pre-medicate due to additional medical research). There was another review I read somewhere that mentions Dr. Eckl as being "young with an old school approach" and I believe that to be true - he won't

I moved to San Clemente about 8-9 months ago, and first went to San Clemente Dentistry on Pico. I quickly learned they are very pushy with expensive treatments, and every time I went in they tried to sell me on $1500+ in work. I decided to switch and went and saw Dr Eckl yesterday and it was hands down the best dentist trip I've had. They did a great job, explained everything they were doing, and didn't try to tell me I needed any unnecessary work done. Dr Eckl explained things to look out for in the future, but said there was no reason I needed to do any extra work. I highly suggest

This is the dental practice to come to if you like compassionate, conscience and gentle care. I've been a patient for 12 years and that is testimonial enough. Thorough, knowledgeable and pragmatic is Dr Eckl and he always makes sure you understand what he's doing and why. I just can't say enough about all the staff he surrounds himself with they are GREAT! My parents started me with dentist visits when I still had some baby teeth and now I'm in my sixties so I've experienced a lot of dentist and I can confidently recommend Eckl Family Dentistry to you.

I have been to dozens of dentists over the years. Several excellent, most mediocre, a few, your worst nightmare. However, Dr Eckl is a REAL TREASURE! I have a disease which causes rapid tooth decay. I went to him after hearing great things written about him and his office on-line in the "San Clemente Life " Facebook Page. I was having pain under a bridge I'd had for about 6 yrs. I first went to "The Smile Group" total rip-off!This clown destroyed a $6k bridge to tell me I had a cavity under one of the teeth. I had to pay $1200 to replace just one of the perfectly good crowns

Dental hygienist Michelle is awesome! She is professional, patient, genuine and passionate about her job. She took the time to explain everything she was about to do and why it needed to be done. I really appreciated that she consistently checked on me to be sure I was doing okay while she was working. Because of Michelle I am no longer reluctant to schedule my next dental appointment.

Randi at Dr. Eckl's office is wonderful! After researching dentists in the area, I called, hoping they would take our new dental insurance. Randi took the initiative to contact my insurance company to help me figure out the specifics of our coverage. Here is what totally bowled me over ... Our insurance is not one that they normally take! However, Randi still took a significant amount of her time to help me. Doesn't that say so much about her character? And that says a lot about the way Dr Eckl runs his practice. Good honest people with a heart of gold!

I am so thankful I found Dr. Eckl's office! After having the same dentist for over 25 years, I was quite apprehensive about seeing someone new. I originally came to the office for second opinion and cleaning. Dr. Eckl was awesome - I felt he gave me an honest second opinion. All around, he seems like a trustworthy guy that is great at what he does. Rochelle, the hygienist, is gentle yet thorough, and Randi at the front desk was equally wonderful and helpful. My family and I will be seeing this office for years to come!

Dr. Eckl and staff are beyond amazing. I'm very nervous about going to the dentist and they made me feel as comfortable as possible. Each staff member made me feel so cared for. They truly care about the patient. I have hated the dentist all my life, and I am actually looking forward to getting my work done with Dr. Eckl and his staff. They even called me next day to check up on me. I highly recommend everyone go to Dr. Eckl!!

Let's face (and mouth) it: Nobody likes going to the dentist. But when you MUST go to the dentist...well, I can't think of a better place to be than here. Dr. Eckl and his staff are really fantastic. I happened upon them by chance a few years ago, when I was living just a couple blocks away. Today, I live in Costa Mesa, and still make the drive down to San Clemente to receive their high-quality care. Since childhood I've been to many different dental offices some small and some big, none compare to Dr. Eckls office at staff. By far this office has been the most courteous respectable and most knowledgeable. Dr. Eckl and his staff are beyond amazing. My family and friends have been coming here for years, I would challenge you to find a more quality Dentist, not only a friendly office but a young Dentist with old school ethics, it's not about chair time and money,
