Foston Funeral Home opened its doors in August of 1938 as a business venture by Herman W. Foston and C.A. Dowdy. Herman was a local entrepreneur involved in other businesses, restaurant and night club. C.A. Dowdy was from Nashville and he was a funeral director and embalmer. The first location was at the corner of Tenth and Franklin Streets.

The ghettoness of this place blows my mind. The rudeness was in all the staff. the funeral started an hour later than we was told it was supposed to start. They put the deceased in the sister section of the obituary. Got cussed out by a lady who drives the limo about parking as if we knew. The sign clearly said parking in the back. And they made the mother sit on the friends side and we had to damn near fight to get an obituary. Oh and they spelled the moms name2 different ways, and forgot to add the dad. would never be this way as a business.

Saying goodbye to my mother was one of the hardest things I could do. Especially because we are not from Clarksville and we had just moved here in November.
Fostons picked my mother up, covered her in a nice velvet cover and gently took her to the funeral home. The communication from the time she got there, until the day of the funeral was so professional and kept me at ease. The funeral director,owner and other staff kept me in the loop and treated me like a sister and that was their mother. Rude, unprofessional, never told me they were sorry for my loss and then had the nerve to lie l I ke they told me I could see my Dad the morning I first called.
When I posted their names and the truth about how my husband and I were mistreated once again no one apologized, showed us NO compassion and had the nerve to demand I take the post down because it was bad for business
My family has been going there for decades. Not anymore! They outsource a lot of their services that you choose, thus possibly causing a significant increase in your budget. AND THEY ARE RUDE WITH A VERY UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF
