After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary College, the Lawson's chose the quaint little town of Summerville to settle down and establish a veterinary clinic. For the next 40 years they have generously served their community while building their business and raising five children.
At Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic, we treat your pets like the valued family members they are. Dr. Lawson grew up in York, Pennsylvania with his mother, father, and younger brother. He attended Purdue University for his undergraduate studies as a biology major so he could go on to do research. After a while, he decided that biology was not for him and then decided to go into veterinary medicine.

Services
Here at the Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service. Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care. Our facility features a full In House Diagnostic Laboratory, Digital X-Ray, Surgical and Dental Anesthetic Suites, Full Intensive Care Hospitalization, and out Patient Treatment.
Routine physical exams are paramount to good health; therefore we recommend annual exams for the same reason your physician and dentist recommend them - if you can detect a problem in its early stages, it's more likely to be treated and resolved with less expense, less difficulty, and better success.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa & Mastercard) and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card. 3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
Here at the Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic we are able to perform canine and feline spays & neuters, mass removals, heartworm treatments, c-sections and declaws. Patients must be up to date on their rabies vaccine and have an exam and prior to procedures. Prior to surgery, we develop a pain management plan for before, during, and after the procedure.
From our in-hospital lab suite where we can run blood chemistry, urinalysis, heartworm tests, parvo tests, and FeLV/FIV tests with rapid turn-around time, to our access to a full service outside reference laboratory for advanced testing, we have your diagnostic needs covered.
With our state of the art in-hospital chemistry analyzer, we are capable of running anything from the basic kidney and liver values, to specific testing (thyroid, phenobarbital, fructosoamine), saving you time and money compared to reference lab testing.

Took one of my furbabies in because she was showing signs of DM and an infection. Sure enough she had both. My mom & I took her in a week before moving to see about getting her sugar close to normal but it took 2 visits of a glucose curve to get her on a fairly decent amount. Dr. Lawson & staff was great. This was the 1st place went to when we moved to SC & it was the last place we went to when we moved to PA. I only wish that we didn't have to pay twice for a curve but I do understand why.

We sadly had to move away after our Kosmo was a patient here for 9 yrs. He is NOT happy having a new vet and groomer at this point in his life. He now needs to be muzzled. But, NEVER a problem at Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic. They were family & we LOVED them all!!! MISSING our Vet and Staff!!! Scott, Sharon & Kosmo Brown 10**********

When we rescued Zeke he was a mess. Some things we knew and some we discovered along the way but thankfully he is more than good now. And all of that is because Zeke has an amazing vet Dr. Lawson. God we are so… thankful for him. He is the best. He is a really quiet guy but with a huge heart and love for the animals. Old Trolley Road Animal clinic you guys are the best. We love you to pieces and we are beyond thankful for all you did and are doing for Mr. Zeke.
