Services
The mission of The HealthCare Connection (THCC) is to provide quality, culturally sensitive and accessible primary healthcare services focusing on the medically underserved, underinsured and uninsured residing in northern Hamilton County and surrounding areas. Established in 1967, The HealthCare Connection (formerly the Lincoln Heights Health Center) was the very first community health center in the state of Ohio.
The Lincoln Heights Health Center, the first Community Health Center in Ohio, opened in 1967 with six volunteers and a $10,000 grant from the City of Lincoln Heights to provide care to medically underserved City residents. At that time, Lincoln Heights was the largest self-governed African American city in the nation; however, there were no physicians or dentists practicing there.
THCC provides integrated behavioral health services for treating the "whole person" and includes mental health, substance use conditions, life stressors and crises, stress-related physical symptoms, and health behaviors. The collaboration between medical and behavioral health providers allows for better collaboration, communication and coordination of care to help improve patients' overall health goals.
A gift to The HealthCare Connection is a gift of hope to a patient in need of your support. As a community health center, we rely on friends like you to help us deliver quality and affordable care through our patient-centered services. Your gift today has the ability to make an impact on thousands of people who need our care in the community, because everyone deserves quality healthcare.
Thank you to our Sustaining Partners for supporting the initiatives and services of The HealthCare Connection. A Sustaining Partnership with The HealthCare Connection identifies your organization as a leader in the community that supports THCC. You partnership will enable THCC to improve, enhance and increase THCC programs, events and services to our patients, donors, and community.

Waste of time. Brought my wife here for pregnancy care. Spent 2 visits being asked basic intake questions. Going for third visit today to get our blood results. After that we won't visit again. I've worked in the medical care industry for 17 years and this might be the worst place I've been to oh, except for maybe that rural Hospital in Malaysia that still looks like a World War II Clinic.

Worse office ever!!! Can't talk to a nurse or anybody unless you're at an appointment. Then you're on hold for an hour trying to make an appointment! High turn over rate for doctors and they don't call you back with your test results. Now I have to wait two more weeks of my next appointment to get my test results. There's no number for you to call to talk to the nurse or anybody at the office only a number to call to make an appointment. I'm on my 3rd doctor here. I'm working on finding somewhere else to go.

I love dr. whalen. He always listens and always makes sure to even reach out if he isn’t in the office he always calls to see what is going on an gives me the best advise. He also goes above and beyond to make sure we have what ever it is we need when we need it. I even moved and i will always drive there for my kids to keep Dr.Whalen.

I arrived for my 11 appt at 10:55 and watched everybody that walked in the door after me be seen before I. I was told the doctor was an hour and ten minutes behind and the office was short staffed to find myself still waiting to be taken back. There was a gentleman for an 11:30 whom was taken back before me as well. Pushing 2 hours in the waiting room as of now. Definitely would not recommend trying to come here if your looking for a quick visit to go over a few things 😴 or trying to come within a lunch break. You will waste the day away in the waiting room

The services behind the doors of the dentist, are top of the line professional! My entire family goes to the dental center on the second floor, and we are always overall satisfied without bias.

This is one of the BEST medical practices anyone could ever be a part of, whether you are a patient or an employee. The staff is very flexible and caring for their patients and will do what ever they can to make sure a patient feels comfortable and taken care of. Patients are like family! I will always recommend this clinic! my children will never see a different clinic than Lincoln Heights!

Aesthetically pleasing, but managed poorly. If you need to have documents filled in a timely manner, it will never happen. There is no way to call and directly speak to medical staff as in an affective, well organized clinic. I can say that the staff is friendly, but I would prefer if they were proficient.

Arrived at 315 for a 330 appointment. Its 5:01pm and I'm still waiting. Not too mention this should had only been a nurse visit. So how exactly are you billing, I hope not a Dr visit when it's clearly not. That would be fraudulently activity......wouldn't? Also that last two times I've only seen the nurse practitioner Felicia which she is amazing. Shouldn't the doctor at least stick her head in and say hello and over see what she's done ? Not too mention not even a apology my time is precious to. 520pm I'm still here and I can here her chit chatting with staff, but she cant even say sorry for you

Absolutely impossible to contact anyone if you have a question or need help. I left a message, and was told that someone would contact me within two days. It's now a week later, and no one has called. I needed the "doctor" to contact my insurance company in order to get my prescription filled. Three weeks later, and still no prescription. Very poorly managed and staffed. If you have a choice, do not go here.

Dr Daniel Whalen is hands down the best Family Doctor in Cincinnati Ohio. He's compassionate and gentle but at the same time he keeps it pretty real. He spends the extra time needed and always involves the kids in the decisions we make. Hes genuine and hes rare so im extremely grateful hes our Doctor!!
