I am Heather, a portrait and lifestyle photographer serving individuals, families, kids, engaged couples and seniors in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Pittsboro and Durham. My family and I have lived in the area for 13 years, and I have fallen in love with the beauty of the area and its culture. I am thrilled to be a part of this vibrant community.

There are lots of reasons to hire a photographer, but you'll really remember the times you didn't and should have. Engaged? Pregnant and glowing? Baby sitting up and exploring their world? Do you have a tween-ager for a few short years? These times are fleeting, even if they feel like they will last forever (final month of pregnancy, anyone?).
We are in a visual renaissance. Don't just trust me - look all around you, at the way you shop, browse the internet, choose what you are going to read next, what shampoo to buy, etc. Branding visuals are so, so important right now. For the first time, images are what social media influencers consider to be more important than blogging (41% to 32%, source, pg 40) in their brand content.
You are the family historian - you keep marker- and colored-paper masterpieces, first poems and spelling tests, medals in ballet and karate, and photos, lots and lots of photos. Some of the photos are from your fancy camera, but most are from your phone. And some of them would be stunning, if only they had a straight horizon, or weren't that odd green color, or didn't have that tree shooting straight out of the head of your child.
