In dentistry today, a comprehensive program of preventative dental care is the most important service we can provide our patients. Prevention in its most basic form entails regular cleaning to control plaque and calculus, which inevitably lead to tooth decay and periodontal disease.

As children's adult molars erupt, their surfaces are full of deep pits and fissures. These pits and fissures are the perfect place for sugar bugs (bacteria), and food debris (plaque) to hide. As we all know, children from toddlers through to late teenage years rarely have proper oral hygiene. The combination of poor oral hygiene, sugary foods, sugar bugs, and grooves to hide in, spells decay!
People today commonly exhibit stress by grinding and or clenching their teeth unconsciously throughout the day or more ferociously while sleeping. Unfortunately, if one does this while sleeping, they are unconsciously exerting 6 times the force on their teeth, jaw joints and muscles than they possibly could during the day.

This was years ago and I'm not sure which dentist, but I was told at one appointment I needed a cavity filled (I was young, middle school probably) and I didn't want to do it so I never told my mom what they said and no follow up was made.
Six months later at a regular cleaning my cavity had magically disappeared!!!
I gave two stars instead of one because the staff is kind and I did go here for 15+ years, but I definitely don't trust dentists anymore because of interactions here.

I had an emergency on a holiday weekend ... without hesitation Dr. Lanzillotti had me come in first thing. Within minutes I was all fixed. She made me comfortable and laugh and I had never even met her before. The office was immaculate and a great location. Highly recommend this practice to anyone looking and almost willing to drive the hour away to change practices. Thank you!!!

Both my spouse and I had been going to Millbury Family Dentistry for just under a year and were both scheduled with Dr. Peterson and we both had molars that had old fillings that she said needed to be replaced, mine also needed a crown. After having the work done we both needed root canals on the tooth that she worked on. I will not be returning for any more dental work.

This was a hell of a cleaning. I saw Dr. Matson and Dr. Peterson over the course of two visits, each a first. The office was beautiful, lots of modern dentistry technology, the staff was warm, friendly, funny, and the doctors were incredibly skilled. Very quickly diagnosed my issue, treated me with as little discomfort as possible for dental work, and did a great job- I feel great and my teeth look great. I've been recommending them to everybody over the past couple days, and you should see them too.
