Kolar tire and auto seems to get the best reviews in town so I decided to use them a few times now and I'm not impressed.
I had them do some work on my truck and put new tires on and they ordered the wrong tires and then on the second day the wrong size tires even though the truck was in their possession at the time so I ended up with used tires they had on hand that would fit. It took 2 extra days longer than it was supposed to, I didn't get the tires I wanted and the total bill was around $1800 no discount was offered for the inconvenience. I didn't say anything and was very

My wife hit a big rock with her car tire and bent the rim just slightly. A Good Samaritan stopped and changed the tire for her (because we almost never get flat tires anymore and don't even know where the jack is anymore! It's under the drivers seat!) My wife took it to another tire company and they said that she needed to buy another Toyota brand tire ($$$). My wife declined and took it to Kolar and they bent it back into shape for $10!!!

They seem to be in the business of not wanting to fix cars. Had a vehicle towed because it used 40 gallons in 90 miles. Literally getting 2 miles per gallon. They stated they put gas in it and the gas gauge went up to 1/4 of a tank; So nothing was wrong. We wasted 8 hours and still stuck with a rental that's is broken. Mechanic was rude and so was owner when we ask how it can be getting 2 miles per gallon and nothing wrong. Take your fleet and person repairs anywhere but here.

I had given Kolar Tire a great rating in the past, but my last two visits for vehicle repairs have been terrible. They failed to diagnose major front end problems on my first visit and charged me for an alignment that did not work due to the front end problems and I ended up chewing through two newer tires. When I returned, they did not do half the work they said they would and they tried to charge me for another alignment that they said they would not charge for. Terrible experience and I am sorry I referred so many people there.

I called and discussed the different tires for my truck, decided on a set, was told they would ship in sets of two and as soon as they were all in he would call me and I could bring my truck in. He never called me back! I guess my $1000 wasn't needed. All is good, I went somewhere else and got great service. (I've bought tires from here before and the service before was great) Not sure what happened.

I agree with the other five star reviews. Kolar apparently fairly recently added a 4WD wrecker (tow truck) to their services. I needed both road service and a tow today (on two different vehicles, both at my home). The tow especially was extra complex. None of the companies AAA works with were interested in helping me (due to them not having 4WD vehicles), thus my call to Kolar. Derek, the driver/service guy was beyond incredible. He was absolutely friendly, efficient, competent, and went beyond the call of duty. I could not have had a better experience. And the total bill seems very reasonable

Kolar is the best! Not only great prices and service on tires but if you get yourself in a bind off-road in the snow on a Sunday (not saying I did...but well...)...they bring out the big red truck and do some amazing truck driving to pull a person out!

One of the best businesses in town. They match prices and get the job done right. They charge you for the time it takes them to do a repair, not up charging you like all the other places. I had them do some suspension work for me at $300 less than other shops in town quoted me. Finally a good, and honest auto shop in town! I have bought 3 sets of tires from them and great service and advice everytime. It's sucks they are always super busy, but they should be because they are good.

We were on a road trip from California to Montana and we had our tires balanced at Big O before we left. They did a horrible job because the steering wheel wouldn't stop vibrating at speed. Finally got sick of that uncomfortable feeling and came to Kolar to get them rebalanced. They got it done in 15 minutes and we were on our way. They did an excellent balancing job and the tires and van felt stable even at 90.

Normally Frank has been great, but when you get your car back with one of the old tires on it, not to mention a different size than the others, not a word said...that simply is not customer service Period. Not to mention it's an all wheel drive car that requires four like tires. Two days later when you notice the tires you get "sorry nobody let you know". Expansion sometimes comes with a price, my business is one of them.

A welcome addition to Helena. Best prices in town, and they seem to carry good brands.
Service is fantastic . I went to Eagle with a slow leak and they said they were closing... too late, too bad. I drove to Kolar and they stayed late to get me going. When everyone else was too busy to put my snow tires on before the first storm, same thing, Kolar worked late into the evening to take care of me.
Bought my new tires from a guy named Greg. Very professional, and and he took the time to make sure everything was right. Highly recommended.

I wish this place would expand and do more than just tires and basic repairs! Frank Kolar has customer service down pat! Other tire stores need to take notice of this little guy shop. The worst experience I have had here is with their growth, I now have to make appointments for my car needs. They will beat or match any offer they can. Give these guys a chance with your tire needs! You won't be disappointed.
