The way we see it, there are basically three kinds of printers. There are printers who specialize in exotic, sophisticated projects; the really big stuff. Other printers specialize in the everyday things; the not-so-glamorous sort of printing everybody needs on a regular basis. Then there's a third kind of printer.
Today's printing technologies were unimaginable when we first opened our doors for business in 1966. As the "state of the art" has moved forward, we've kept pace - every step of the way. Today, Consolidated Press is completely digital in our pre-press services department. We offer an array of printing options (both conventional and digital), and a full-service bindery too!
You have finally created the ultimate document! It looks simply wonderful on your screen and it printed just fine on your laserprinter. Sadly though, that does not mean that a service bureau or printer can be as enthusiastic about this creation as you are. We could encounter a lot of difficulties because of things you forgot, did not communicate or did not know about.
Planning: Plan your job and stick to that planning. Creative people tend to forget that outputting film, making plates, printing a job and finishing it takes time. Just because your planning slips does not mean that the prepress and printing people can get their part done twice as fast. Presses run on a tight schedule, printed sheets need time to dry and if something goes wrong in prepress, it can take a lot of time to sort things out.
Page dimensions: Make sure you use the exact dimensions that you want for the printed job. Also take care that the proper bleed is applied on all pages. Please don't spend a lot of effort figuring out how we will print the job. Every printing establishment has different equipment and differing opinions on the best way to produce the finished product.

Came here to get a complex portfolio project and resume produced and I was so impressed with the final product that they handed me that I would recommend them every time. The people that I talked to about price and logistics were the same people who actually printed and worked with the machines so they were very knowledgeable could suggest changes based on the questions and assumptions that I brought with me. Will definitely go back.
