Best. Dentist. Period. I have been to no less than 10 dentists in the Burke/Springfield area, and after near torture level experiences have developed what some might call a very real dental phobia. Burke Centre Dental Arts cured that fear. Not only do they not discuss procedures in the dental chair (they take you to a side office and sit and discuss what the procedure will be like and what to expect, believe me it’s a small gesture that goes a very, very long way), they also are the most welcoming office I’ve ever been to. I found out today Dr McMillan is not returning to the practice. No explanation, no reason. I would expect a professional business that has been here for 35+years to alert is patients of the change with some explanation.
I have been very happy with his service, but his prices have risen to the point of almost not being worth it.
With his departure, I will be looking for a new dentist. I relied on his kindness and experience for years, and I will miss him.

I had chosen this place because they specialized in sedation. I did receive multiple crowns which I had problems with and kept returning to have them reshaped due to my mouth not closing correctly which actually causes a lot of issues and discomfort. After several visits, the last of which I was told I would probably have to come

After reviewing several dental practices, I chose McMillan Sedation Dentistry because Dr. McMillan offers IV sedation and because after my initial consultation and meeting with Dr. McMillan I felt very secure in the knowledge that I would be well taken care of. Dr. McMillan explains everything clearly and is patient and kind. I had about 4 hours worth of work done under IV sedation that very likely would never have been done without having had that option. The dental work was impeccable, and I am a very satisfied patient. Dr. McMillan also has built a great team. The front desk squad is professional

DO NOT TRUST THIS OFFICE! While Dr. McMillian is an awesome dentist, his office staff is lacking in both competence and patient care. I was seen and notified them of an insurance change upon arrival, and told I was "good to go" they neglected to inform me they were not in network and I was surprised with a $420 bill at check out- they then refused to make it right. If you really need sedation double and triple check on your own- you CAN NOT TRUST THIS OFFICE TO DO THEIR JOB!

WORST, MOST PAINFUL DENTAL EXPERIENCE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE! Wish you could rate a "0"! Stay away!! After crowning 13 teeth under sedation (I only expected 9 in this visit), Dr. McMillan had stretched my mouth so wide as to cause my entire lower gum line to blister, and broke the labial frenulum. A month + of indescribable pain and healing, and only being able to eat soup and drink room temperature beverages.
When I told him I had pain in a lower tooth (documented in his notes), he only filed the crown and never addressed the pain.

Needed some work done to my back teeth that were giving me some issues for the last few weeks. Made an appointment with Dr. McMillan and had an awesome experience. I thought for sure I would need at least one tooth pulled but he saved both of them! He thoroughly went over everything he had to do to my teeth. Turns out I only needed fillings! Staff is absolutely wonderful. Front desk was kind and genuinely cared about me as a patient as did his assistants. I definitely recommend!

I want to say great things about this place because it is the closest I've come to finding a good dentist in the DC area. It is the third dentist I have tried and a local friend recommended them.
Great hygenists and staff. I would love to come back because everyone here is very kind. The hygienists that worked with me even sent me a Starbucks gift card as a welcome and hope to see you again.
However, I won't be returning because of the prices. My dental insurance does not cover a dental evaluation that costs $135 and bite wings at $88. My insurance will only permit a dental evaluation

I've been searching for a good dentist in the area and I will look no further. This is the place for me. All of the staff are very friendly and introduced themselves upon my first visit. The office itself is very clean and decorated comfortably. They pay attention to small details like putting pictures on the ceiling so when they recline the chair… to clean your teeth there is something to look at. They even gave me glasses to put on so water or debris didn't spray into my eyes! No dentist has ever been clever enough to think of this that I have been to in my lifetime. They do not use latex

My experience at Dr. McMillan's office was probably the best dentist office experience I've ever had, if not the best doctor's office I've ever visited. Upon entering the door I was greeted with a friendly "Welcome to the practice!" The kindness continued on with my consultation with DA Nicole, who I imagine could put the most anxious patient at ease. She constantly monitored my comfort level during the exam and x-rays. I'm pretty sure I made my appointment over the phone with Stephanie, although I'm not positive. She had a really great phone manner and she took her time with me. I rarely can make an doctor or dentist appointment these days without feeling rushed and being put on hold at least once. When I showed up late(!), I expected to just reschedule, but Stephanie was very accommodating and polite despite the fact that I'd inconvenienced their office.

They decided to go ahead and use a much more expensive material for 2 overlays and didn't tell me 1) that there was even an option or 2) that my insurance would not cover the much higher amount. I had a quote from them that ended up being not even remotely close to what the final bill was. Be very careful with this business!

I'll let you know how my "decay" is doing after my appointment with my dentist next Wednesday. I can assure you that my teeth are fine, as he told me they were several months ago. I don't agree with your practice to treat things "proactively" when they aren't even there to begin with... as I'm sure others would feel. I'm pretty sure that X-rays would show decay if it existed... and my X-rays were squeaky clean. You definitely DO have a different philosophy than my dentist and I'm happy that I went back to him.
