Dr. Andy Torsch grew up in Louisville Kentucky and attended the University of Kentucky. He came to Alabama upon his acceptance to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University where he graduated in 1984.
Andy moved to Birmingham in 1993 with his wife Martha and their four children and practiced at Patton Chapel Animal Clinic and Vestavia Animal Clinic before opening Main Street Animal Clinic with Dr. McClure and Dr. West in September of 2003.Away from work, Andy enjoys many outdoor sports and watching college sports, especially basketball (Go UK!), and spending time with his children and 8 grandchildren.

Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
Our state-of-the-art hematology equipment (purchased in 2020) provides accurate bloodwork results within minutes of sample collection. Digital Radiography allows us to take detailed Xrays in an instant which will be displayed for you in our exam rooms in high definition. Ultrasonography is an extremely useful diagnostic tool for examining organs that previously required surgery to evaluate.

Our Boston Terrier aka Baby Girl was drooling with blood mixed in. Her mouth was very sore and her tongue would hang out. She is 11&1/2 so we were worried it was not good. We took her in on Saturday morning and Dr Traywick said to bring her back Monday morning. He had to put her to sleep so he could examine her mouth. Before he did anything he called to tell us what was going on. She ended up having abscess in a couple of her teeth. He ended up pulling 10 of her teeth. He cleaned out the infection and put her on antibiotics. Everyone was so nice to us. They knew how worried we were. They aren’t

I am new at Main Street Animal Clinic. From the first time I walked in the door I immediately was greeted and my needs were met with friendly and professional staff. My family and I have only been in Alabama for about a year. My first experience here was great. I just needed my 10 year old dog's regular exam and shots. Everyone was helpful and what you'd want when going to a new vet. More recently, we'd gotten a puppy in October 2020, and they've been absolutely amazing with her routine care.
A week ago, she was hit by a car. I was terrified and, while this isn't an emergency vet, they still saw her right away. The front staff was incredibly patient with my 3 small children and even helped to entertain them. Dr. Torsch examined her immediately upon our arrival
