Do not take your loved ones to this hospital, I promise you will regret it. My brother was there for 11 days before going into hospice and it was such a horrible experience there. Most of the staff was rude, inconsiderate and bad at their jobs. The neurosurgeon wanted to do a surgery on my brother that wasn’t going to improve his quality of life. I felt like I was in the twilight zone.

My mom has cancer and covid! They are taking several HOURS to give my mom medication for her 103 degree fever! Btw my mom JUST finished chemo treatments last week and caught covid at the hospital Wednesday Jan 12th 2022. It’s honestly ridiculous and I am fed up with how little they care for my mother. They gave her covid and they aren’t properly taking care of her! I am writing this review because they are still continuing to neglect my mother. My sister is constantly calling and they are not doing anything! Worst patient care my family ever experienced.

Pregnant women should avoid this hospital at all costs. Especially minority women. The nurses and OBGYNs here have done nothing to prevent pregnancy loss for high risk patients. Other hospital nurses and OBGYNs from other hospitals have mentioned that OU should have implemented many different things such as strict bed rest and so forth. They are absolutely horrible here. The worst hospital in Oklahoma. I hope they’re sued.

First off Im not a patient. I was there visiting with my family. I'm writing this review because the staff at OU medical was rude and really hateful. I understand that medical staff under alot pressure do to the pandemic. But it doesn't give them the right to treat like they dumb. Should be ashamed.

Such caring people work here. My. Husband was diagnosed with advanced stage 4 colon cancer while we were in Denver Colorado traveling for his career as ahorse jockey. The hospital there told us that OU was a great place to receive care. Since we are from Oklahoma area we device's to hurry home and got plugged in to the Stephenson cancer center oncologist. They have treated us like family. All the Dr's we've seen seem to genuinely care about our needs. The nursing staff on the 7th floor do an incredible job and have great bedside manners. Especially Denise and Chris Chris is our nurse the next couple

Other than the person at ER check in, every person I have been in contact with has been exceptional.
Issues after my first procedure resulted in a 6 day in hospital stay. I have no complaints.
On 11/09/2021 I returned for an additional procedure. Everyone I encountered was top notch.
I go back in two months for another procedure and I have total confidence that all will be well.

If you aren't visiting someone, be sure to speak with the Department you will be going to, and ask which entrance you will use and a suggestion for parking. Because of COVID, even if you know how to navigate the maze of hallways, some areas cannot be accessed from every entrance. The Doctors themselves are very good. Getting an appointment, however, is not easy. It may be a month before your primary care can see you, so if you get bronchitis that may be turning pneumonia, you would only be able to wait in the clinic for first in, first out service with the first available doctor. The doctors at OU medical are amazing. However if you are staying in the hospital be prepared for the worst care in the metro area. The nurses are completely incompetent and for what you pay it’s honestly ridiculous. They only care about their money and how much they are making and do not care about their patients. They are late on everything, including meds. If you are to use your call button to receive attention be prepared to have to call multiple times and not receive attention for very long periods of time. For example I asked for a bottle of water and it took me using the call button three

My husband was recently hospitalized at OUMC for severe dehydration and had a PEG tube placed. He has throat cancer and is undergoing treatment, but the side effects from radiation is what landed us there. The GI doctor and his team were amazing. However, the rest of the staff was ridiculous. My husband’s IV ended up infiltrated and it took two days for them to change it. His hand was doubled in size and it was only changed after the house supervisor was contacted. His dressing from the surgery was never changed. He was there for five days and never offered a shower, sponge bath, or any other
