He operated the business for 37 years until the funeral home was handed over to George R. Huff Sr. in 1915. The business was moved to 414 West Main Street and became George R. Huff & Sons Funeral Home.
Staff members of Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Inc. are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress. Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice.

We had a great experience with Huff & Lakjer. We are of the Hindu faith and they catered to our religious needs and were very sensitive to our family for our father's loss. Given the circumstances of dad's health - we pre-planned the funeral and the plan fell into place once dad passed. The customer follow up was great and everything ran very smoothly. Would recommend them highly.

Bill Rafferty was exceptional. He is kind and knowledgeable and helped us best honor my Dad and his wishes. He explained our options and gave us guidance so that we could interact with (in our case) in-state and out-of-state vendors intelligently. The receptionists Louise and Delores were helpful too.

Both my parents passed away somewhat suddenly. While they both lived a full life you are never ready for the inevitable. However, Ren and the staff at Huff and Lakjer are exceptional. They showed sympathy and empathy while helping the family coordinate a beautiful memorial remembrance. I highly recommend their services to anyone in need.
Sincerely,
Matt

I was really disappointed after prepaying for a funeral with Huff and Lakjer. They did not follow through with items they were to handle, that were on my signed contract. They were unprofessional, unorganized and did not follow through. That's pretty bad during a loss of a family member. I don't believe this business is a member of the Better Business Bureau so you have no protection. After they had my money for 2 years, they just cut items out and that meant, I had to do all of the running around, last minute, with no reason as to why they were doing so. Although, they did refund the charges for

On December 17 2015, my 14yr grand daughter died suddenly in her sleep. Her mother and I turned to Huff and Lakjer Funeral Home to handle her arrangements. I had used this funeral home several times in the past and have NEVER received anything but the best from all of the staff. Their caring compassion makes the most difficult of times all the more bearable.
Unfortunately my daughter and husband have been divorced for many years and the father and paternal grandparents live in Florida. Arrangements were made for them to view T in their own private time separate from ours, along with their family

The funeral directors and team who were responsible for the arranging and conduct of my father's recent memorial and inurnment were very compassionate and made the unexpected passing bearable. Ed Cox was the lead point of contact and did an amazing job in helping my mom and all of the family through this experience. Being new to the area we had no idea who to use and were very lucky to have had this name passed on to us. From having no set plan to arranging a day that went very smoothly and provided all of us great comfort the team was absolutely the best.
