Dental hygiene is an important part of your pet's health! Serious health problems such as heart disease and kidney disease can be a result of dental disease. An examination of your pet's teeth and gums to help determine if there are any dental issues is an excellent form of preventative care! Fortunately, many dental issues can be managed through at-home and routine veterinary check-ups and cleanings.
Dogs and cats often do their best to conceal their illnesses, which can make it difficult to detect and diagnose them with the naked eye. This makes use of state-of-the-art technology an important aspect of your pet's overall preventive and wellness care. Using safe, non-invasive imaging techniques like ultrasound can allow us to make advanced diagnoses in a timely fashion while minimizing the stress on your pet.

I just moved to Philly last month and I needed to get my cat established with a veterinarian. I am a veterinary technician but I'm not working in a clinical setting at this time, so I was really nervous about taking my cat to a new veterinarian where I wasn't going to be the one handling him. After researching many hospitals, I really liked all of the things that Fishtown Vet had to offer and felt that their core values aligned with my own. I spoke with Jamie on the phone to make the appointment and she was so kind and helpful. She wasn't dismissive at all about any of my concerns, no matter how

We've been coming here since they opened, and the quality have care has always been excellent. Katie at the front desk is always helpful and able to figure out a game plan to get you in, Dr Newth is always attentive and knowledgeable, and having dealt with Dr Kohn for the first time today, they are also attentive with their care and intentional about actions, seeking out all options on a diagnosis.
Fishtown Animal Hospital gives 5 star service and I highly recommend them for your pet care needs.

We moved to Fishtown back in October and started bringing our 3 cats here since it was so close to us. I’m SO glad this is the closest vet. They are so caring, respectful and conscientious. I’ve seen a different vet for most visits and they’ve all been wonderful but the vet tech Amani has always been the one to bring us inside and get us situated. She is so good with all of my cats, even my super anxious cat who HATES the vet. We are so grateful for her. The prices here are so reasonable compared to past vets I’ve been to, they follow up via email to check in after appointments and they

I've been seeing the wonderful staff at Fishtown Animal Hospital since I moved to Philly in 2015. Whether it was a routine check up or a sick visit, they have been an absolute pleasure. I've never felt taken advantage of or that the charges and tests were unnecessary, and I'm always completely satisfied and confident with the care. Above that, the entire staff is lovely. Although I've moved out of the city and I could have found another vet more conveniently located to me in South Jersey, I continue to go to Dr Cohn and her staff simply because I trust them.
Things I love : fair prices, reliable

Great staff and vets, extremely helpful with answering questions about puppy care, and very thorough with explanations before and after the exam. Also, they're very clear and upfront with pricing. Parking is tricky, but that's not their fault. I'm really happy to have such a good vet office vet close by.
