What makes us different from the plethora of Mexican-oriented cuisine choices throughout California? La Victoria - better known by our loyal followers as "LaVic's" - did not become one of the, if not the, go-to place in the South Bay by chance or luck. Our approach to an intensely authentic Mexican and Mexican-American experience begins with our Orange Sauce, available nowhere else on the planet.
Offered to accompany all of our unique menu items, the Orange Sauce represents a secret family recipe at home on the plates of meat lovers as well as vegans alike, often imitated, as we like to say, but never duplicated. Perhaps most interesting of all is that this special sauce is injected and infused with the same burning passion and love that drives the individuals who routinely make it.

I've been coming to this store for a almost a decade , before the serving is good but now the amount of meat become less they put more rice and beans you can barely see the meat in it .and they limit only to pack of orange sauce per order and if you ask more they will charge you which is sad. Probably need to look for a new place to fill up my burrito craving

I got super burrito, and it was really good. I can't believe how good their orange sauce was. I wish the service was friendlier. She asked if I wanted a certain sauce, but I didn't know what it was? She sounded very annoyed (over my phone order) that I asked her to explain it to me, because I can't eat spicy sauce. When I picked up my order in person, the service was as unpleasant as the phone call. They over charged me an extra drink and gave me lots of attitude when I brought it to her attention. The cashier eventually refunded me when I showed her the receipt, and reluctantly

The orange sauce is everything. +1 star just for the orange sauce. Without it, I would give the regular burrito 2.5 stars.
Regular Burrito w/ Lengua - The meat was super tender and juicy, but sadly there was no visible salsa and too much rice.
Pros: Lots of parking. Not too long of a wait (Sunday night). Online ordering for pickup is available.

La Vics is a Mexican food staple in SJ. They're known for their famous orange sauce!
I went last night since every other restaurant was closed and I was craving Mexican food. I ordered a super burrito with chicken. The food came out surprisingly fast. The service in the restaurant was good too. The burrito was delicious, and the orange sauce accompanying it was just what I needed. The sauce is super garlic-y and flavorful. I enjoyed it a lot. My only critique is the food did not sit right with my stomach and I had some abdominal distress afterward.

I have been coming to La Vics for years and every once in a while I get a heavy craving for their infamous orange sauce!
After Christmas, I was getting that craving again, so I stopped in to grab dinner for my family. I had ordered the chicken enchilada plate, super nachos with carne asada, and super burrito with lengua for takeout. The cashier was quick to take our order and it was not too long of a wait before my number was called. The woman bagging my order was careful to ensure our full order was ready and was so kind to speak with.
Once I got home, my family and I had split the enchilada

I really loved this place when I was in high school. My favorite was the steak fries with everything or what they call " super nacho fries", they were so good. They still are but the fries get soggy very quickly! The meat is good, all the other toppings as well, and of course the special sauce makes everything just a little wet quickly. Still a favorite of mine I always enjoy with a sangria señorial!

Disgusting food!! This place has gone down the sh*t!! They took for ever to get my food ready! They called 3 numbers ahead of me. Finally the other cashier came and bagged my food, only to discover cold nasty @$$ hard overheated broken tortillas on my tacos. The tongue is super dark and huge chuncks . Salsa is not even orange anymore! While waiting for my food,a couple of different ppl complained about the quality of the food as well. You have been warned.... DON'T GO THERE!!

OKAY I see what the orange sauce rave is about now. I finally tried La Vics after hearing so much about their orange sauce, my expectations were pretty high but wow I'm still blown away!!
I got a Super Burrito with carne asada and 4 small orange sauce for an extra $1.25 (was tempted to get the 12oz bottle but wanted to give it a try first, but you know I'm getting this next time). First off, the size of the burrito is HUGE, it probably weighed over a lb, you'll definitely get your money's worth and a very full meal. The taste was amazing as well, carne asada was flavorful and

I am NOT a fan.
I was craving street tacos and orange sauce, and this place was relatively close.
"Street Tacos" (to me) is corn tortillas, meat, onions, cilantro, and salsa. At La Vic's it is: meat, pico de gallo, and beans on 2 corn tortillas straight from the package.
Don't get me wrong, packaged corn tortillas are good...but can you at least warm it up? Pan fry it on a griddle? Add a little oil? It was room temp, dry, white, tasteless and fell apart.
The carnitas were also dry and tasteless.
And I don't remember the orange sauce being so bland. I was not impressed

Came here for lunch after a long day of moving. Have to say we haven't been here in a awhile and it wasn't a disappointment at all. The place wasn't packed the workers were all friendly and greeted up as we entered. There were multiple people In our group and everyone enjoyed there food.
My husband ordered a super burrito de Chile verde and I ordered a super burrito de alpastro. Good size burritos that tasted great.
The orange sauce is always a favorite that I made sure to grab a bottle for some fish tacos for tomorrow.
But the horchata stole the show. Man oh man do they make

My friends and I have been going to La Vic's since high school, and it always hits the spot for our Mexican food cravings. Orange sauce is life.
My go-to order is the super burrito with al pastor, but the carne asada and lengua are also bomb. The meat is always super flavorful, and dousing it with orange sauce adds a bit of spicy kick. The texture of the beans and rice, with the meat and sauce plays off super well, it's just a great burrito. The carne asada fries are also really bomb. The food is pretty heavy and can sometimes be greasy, but it really hits the spot.

My friend and I shared a carne asada super burrito and it was big enough for the both of us. I think what sets this place apart from other places is their orange sauce. It's a mild spicy sauce that adds a bit of a kick to your burrito. Besides that, the burrito was very flavorful, creamy and definitely satisfied my cravings. I would come back again just to get more of their orange sauce!!

Chorizo super burrito: I thought this was great. You have to be prepared for a somewhat greasy mess, chorizo isn't exactly a diet-friendly meat. But it was not lacking flavor that's for sure! I do wish that there was a better balance of all the other ingredients since the chorizo was the main ingredient of the burrito.
carne asade super burrito: lacking some flavor compared to the chorizo, but I did like the ratio of ingredients. You could taste the guac, sour cream, rice, etc. which created great balance and overall flavor. BUT, this was my boyfriend's burrito and he did complain

Orange sauce. The secret ingredient that makes La Victoria special when it comes to Mexican eateries. This "mild to medium" level sauce makes all of the items on the menu better. It's so popular that you can buy "take home" bottles for $6.
The food is tasty and quickly prepared. This Hayward location (they have others in San Jose) has a large comfortable dining area that is currently closed in the Age of COVID. I've enjoyed tacos (carne asada is my favorite) and burritos (give the breakfast burrito a try). Both benefit by Orange Sauce.
