In August of 2010, The Rose Garden Restaurant in Union City has reach the milestone of its 33rd Anniversary. Serving delicious Chinese cuisine to the Tri-City area since 1977, The Rose Garden Restaurant has been referred to as A Union City Landmark. The Rose Garden Restaurant was started by Thomas Wong in the summer of 1977 at the former Union Square Mall.
The Wong children helped with the restaurant work after school and on weekends. Years of dedicated work and long hours enabled Thomas Wong to support his family and allowed his children to go to college. In 1989, the Union Square Mall was sold and demolished to make way for the New Marketplace Center.

I've been to this restaurant many of times but today was very surprising. The quality of food was horrible. Chicken chow mein was made out of pasta noodles like Italian pasta noodles, The Kung Pao chicken was drenched in the dressing, That tastes like a non-traditional flavor. There was hardly no chicken I was shocked and kind of appalled as we pay for these meals during COVID-19 and still the quality of food is downgrading. $50 for NASTY HORRIBLE FOOD... I should have ordered In-N-Out Burger...

Updated 2020. This establishment has been one of my favorite places to dine in or carry out with my entire family. You can not believe the quality of their food and service, it's that good. Enjoy it for yourself, I have for the better part of 30 years.
Update.. Something has definitely changed here in regards to food quality as of late and I hate to do this, but my family (not just me) has decided that we will no longer eat here. Staff is still great, but due to the recent changes in overall food taste, I can no longer recommend this restaurant.

We have been going here for a while. The food is very good. Our favorites are the braised tofu (with black mushrooms & steamed bok choy), sizzling seafood rice soup, basil trio vegetables with tofu - my fav, and walnut shrimp. My extended family enjoyed the beef broccoli & Rose Garden chow mein. Before covid-19, we used book our large family luncheons or dinners here. The staff recognizes us, which is great. It really feels like speaking to our neighbor!
