Forthrite Printing

We had a great experience here! We needed about two dozen custom printed shirts of different sizes for a virtual birthday party. The end product was completed on time and at high quality. We were even able to pick them up on relatively short notice after hours. I would highly recommend Forthrite printing to anyone looking for a custom print services.

As an advertising/marketing professional, this is one of the best print shops I've worked with. I have been using them for a couple of years now for a wide range of products and services for both personal to professional jobs. The owner Conor's passion is so evident in his attention to detail and work ethic. They have a great online platform that allows for customization and uploading files. I truly appreciate how seamless it is to work with this shop, their competitive pricing and their quick turn around time(!).

I first found Forthrite in the Spring of 2013 what I had a project that needed t-shirts, tote bags, and other swag. Lucky for me this shop was in my hood. As a designer that offers a variety of products to my clients , it is really important to have a trusted screen printer. Because of the excellent and — I'll say it — forthright communications, I never thought twice about utilizing the shop several more times before I moved from the bay area. Bottom line, Bad customer service. Wouldn't count on them delivering your project if you have a deadline. Found out the day AFTER it was due, that they hadn't even started it or notified us that they were behind.

Paid for a job to be done by a certain date (weeks out). Never received calls or notification of the job progress. I patiently waited, excited to get my prints. A few day AFTER the job was promised to be completed, I called to see what the hold up was. To my surprise, not only had they not finished my job, they hadn't even started it. And to top it off, they were NOW no longer interested in doing the project they had contracted to do. WORST customer service I've ever dealt with. Go elsewhere.

So happy to have found this place! I needed a small batch of one-color screen printed posters. Not many places would do less than 50 prints, but Conor was very easy-going and gracious and got 25 prints done in under a week, for a very reasonable price. Most of all, they look awesome! Very very happy customer.

Very frustrated with this company. They committed to having some prints done for me by a certain deadline so I paid them in advance. They called me two days AFTER my deadline to inform me that they “weren’t interested in doing my prints anymore” and they felt confident we could “find someone else to do them” now I have to start over and get back in line with another company. Horrible customer service. Don’t waste your time or take a chance with forthrite. Go somewhere else.

Left me and my business partners hanging high and dry. Owner was rude and snarky. Out of principal, find another print shop.

Gave plenty of advanced notice to get our job done. When the deadline came, I got a call saying that Forthrite was no longer interested in doing the job. I'm still shocked that the job was handled this way. Now I'm having to scramble to find someone to rush and get it done.

Connor was so helpful, patient and efficient in getting my canvas bags printed on time and ready for our middle school fundraiser. The end product was better than I could have imagine, the color, although just black, is a perfect jet black. It's been washed a few times and the color has not faded. Support this place, it's local, and Connor's shop is one of the fabulous places that makes me proud to live in Oakland. #loveOakland

The folks here are very nice, but they struggle with responsiveness and customer service. If you hope for your printing work to be completed within a given timeframe or you're in a rush, look elsewhere.

I came to Forthrite with a t-shirt printing job for my company. After a nice initial conversation during which they told me they could accommodate my order, 17 days of back-and-forth followed, at the end of which they told me they couldn't do the work any more. I'll need to start over with a different printing company now, even though in our first interaction I told Forthrite

Slow correspondence and because of that, in the end, they were not able to make our deadline after I gave them plenty of time. Ended up going to Berkeley Screen Print, who went above and beyond and was able to make our tight deadline. Sometimes the cheapest printer is not always the best. I suppose they were very busy.

Conor was very professional and accommodating with a rush order (last minute inspiration on my part for a team building event). I was pretty sure there was no way I could get someone to do this with such a short turnaround; thought I'd at least try and Conor came thru on the deadline exactly like he committed to. Good news: it didn't look like a rush job either! My shirts looked AMAZING. My colleagues loved that they were custom, cool, and locally done.

Conor is, without a doubt, one of the best printers I've ever worked with. He was attentive, patient and got my job done ahead of schedule. His pricing is fair, he was genuinely interested in my work and how he might best assist me in getting my items done within my budget, and even offered me a referral to another shop for another project as they might have been a bit more economical. Conor printed my wedding invitations. He was honest, helpful, and straightforward throughout the process. The quality of the printing was absolutely superb. It was great to support a local business and I'd trust him again in a heartbeat.

At first my graphic designer husband and I were excited to use Forthrite for a print job of t-shirts and tote bags for a summer camp that I run, based on the quote, overall aesthetic, and reviews. Unfortunately, the customer service is not up to par.

When we contacted Conor to pick up our items on our agreed-upon date, he was out of town and said that he had us in his calendar for the next week; he admitted the mistake was entirely on his end. I had a poster printing project for work and was looking for high quality printing for artwork with a lot of small detail. He was able to get an amazing degree of tiny detail and every poster was perfect. The colors were brilliant and exactly matched the digital file I sent. I was shopping around a lot for a printer until I finally settled on Conor. His prices are competitive and his service is excellent. It's very important for me to work with someone communicative when dealing with graphic design. He is very responsive and even went the 9 yards to rush an order when he didn't have to. Many other printers in Oakland seemed unprofessional or uninterested in my business, but Conor was there for me.

Forthrite is a fine outlet for artists and artisans looking for quality screen printed work and, perhaps, a place to hang some work (Forthrite frequently has art openings promoting local talent). The owner, Conor is a talented screen printer and a personable shop keeper to boot. This makes every visit worth it.

I'm a designer and I've been sending all my screen printing jobs to Conor for years. He is extremely reliable, detail oriented, and a pleasure to work with. Forthrite does a spectacular job of making what can be a complex process as simple and streamlined as possible and educates patrons like myself through the process. Couldn't recommend the shop more.

I have printed several jobs with Conor at Forthrite. Simply put: HE ROCKS. The prints I have gotten from him are clean, perfectly registered, and super professional. I have a very sensitive eye for color, I am very exacting when it comes to color, and I also pick colors that are difficult to match. Conor hits it right on the button every time. (I recommend giving him a color proof to match.)
