Albuquerque, New Mexico is the "Land of Enchantment, " but no matter how enchanting it is here, we all feel stressed, anxious or sad sometimes. Are you looking for therapy in Albuquerque? We specialize in the areas of depression, anxiety, panic attacks, emotional sensitivity, stress management, trauma, couples and family issues.
Anxiety is a normal reaction to fear and stress. How do you know when it's time to seek help? That's a question only you can answer, but my guideline is when your distress interferes with your happiness and ability to lead a normal life, professional therapy can help. Anxiety disorders affect 40 million Americans, making them the most common mental health disorders.
Children are naturally creative, and it is usually easier for them to draw a picture as opposed to answering questions directly. They may be reluctant or even hostile about discussing certain topics. Creating artwork is a non-threatening venue that allows kids to tackle tough issues in a creative way.
Many people get shy or nervous in situations like giving a speech or interviewing for a job, but if your fear of embarrassing yourself is so intense that you avoid situations like these, you may be suffering from Social Anxiety. It might feel like you are the only one with this problem, but Social Anxiety or Phobia is quite common.
If you have been involved in a traumatic experienced, been threatened or witnessed a trauma within the past month and experiencing PTSD-like symptoms, you may be suffering for Acute Stress Disorder (ASD). Treatment and support is available in Albuquerque. Call Counseling ABQ at 209-2442 or email to schedule an intake and determine which treatment option is right for you.

I enjoy coming to this place. From the check in to the sessions. Everyone is super nice and amazing. They greet everyone, they have everything ready before the intake appointment. I like the emails I receive before each appointment. The counselors are all very welcoming. I will definitely be coming back there if needed.
