Services
We can help you ensure that your child gets the services she needs to learn and reach her full potential. If you are a caregiver for a child or loved one with special needs (such as mental or physical disabilities), you probably have worried about what may happen when you can no longer provide and care for them.
The world of special education can seem like "alphabet soup" with the myriad of acronyms that abound. It is challenging enough for specialists in the field to stay abreast of the terminology, and even more daunting for school counselors and parents to do so. Here's a list to help you.
Individualized Educational Program: a group of individuals composed of the parents of a child with a disability, a regular education teacher if relevant, a special education teacher, a representative of the local education agency (District) who is qualified to provide, or supervise the provision of, specially designed instruction to meet the unique needs of children with disabilities and is knowledgeable about the general education program and availability of resources.

My child has an IEP and Special Education needs. I needed a lawyer that was willing to "go to bat" for me with our school district. Brett Allen is a "top notch" attorney that also happens to be a single father that cares about child welfare and families more than any other attorney I have known (and I worked for Nolo Press). He has the expertise to get-things-done. Brett is cutting edge on the law and current issues, Works In All the California School Districts and knows all the players.
He was very kind and worked well with the mediator but make no mistake--he is tough
