BEEN IN THE LAKE NORMAN AREA FOR NEARLY THREE YEARS AND I AM ONLY SAD THAT I NEVER VISITED THIS RESTAURANT SOONER…. GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE… THE ATMOSPHERE IS AMAZING. BEST RESTAURANT HANDS DOWN!!! We will be visiting more often to try other items on the menu. 🤤

Pros-food is 5 star, service 5 star.
Covid awesome and takes all precautions 5 star! Thanks for caring about community and staff. We will dine safely there for rest of winter.
thoughts:
cons: outside area seriously needs 100% charm/lighting /plants blankets etc heat lamps -should and could be be 5 star with most fab spot on street.take advantage go look at other outdoor areas! pandemic or not - people want to be outdoor if at all possible.always! Thank you again for being covid awesome as we left 5 places today because staff stopped masks etc. happy new year.

I was never in Davidson but heard how great the downtown is. Plotted a course to a random restaurant (pickled peach) and parked nearby. We decided to eat at the Flatiron Kitchen. We wanted something light and shared a Caesar salad. It was ok, but I've had better. I think they tried to be a little fancy and ended up with something that resembles a Caesar salad but was different enough that it should be called something else. The server was great and very attentive.

We live in the lovely town of Davidson. We’ve been here many times since we relocated from Michigan two years ago. We usually request outdoor seating. My husband loves to try many things off the menu. I like the Wagyu burger. The Red Curry Mussels. The deviled eggs are also good. The kale salad. I say orders many things & share! Apologize for not having pics. I recently deleted unnecessary pics.
Flatiron is a must!

So let's start with the menu. Really good choice. We had red curry mussels. Fantastic! Fresh and the sauce outstanding. Main we chose Salmon. Taste was great and the salmon well cooked medium rare. Delicious 😋.
We did get everything we ordered!
Service was sketchy. A sense of understanding, attentiveness was lacking, diligence to please was not there. I even approached the window and told the kitchen staff the food was great, "oh OK thanks" no positive feed back nore pride!
This should have been a 5 star to be honest, and we will give it another try on the back of great tasting food! It was

First, the food and service were good, but I did order my burger medium and it was very much well done. Despite this, I agree you won't get a bad meal here, but at these prices, I am expecting something more. The menu here seems uninspired, despite the fact that signs inside remind you that they are working directly with farms. My $25 burger did not seem much improved over what I can order elsewhere.

Great restaurant. Parking is a little scarce. Love the big picture windows overlooking Main St. The food is incredible, truly enjoyed ourselves. Service was top notch, too.

So honestly this is a tough review because on my first visit I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The second visit not so much as one of the appetizers were completely missing and the food lacked the energy and passion from the first visit. So this review is a 2 for 1 I guess. Let's start with the truffle parmesan fries which seems to be a popular app at many places these days. The first time we almost placed a second order cause it was so good. The second go round between the fries not being hot something was missing. No truffle oil? Cheap knockoff? Strange. The star of the show was the risotto and

I got a Groupon and took my family for dinner last night. We enjoyed every minute of our culinary journey. To start, we had the hummus platter and also the 🐙 octopus. Then for entrees, we ordered the Atlantic salmon, hickory wagyu 🍔 burger, vegetarian custom dish, and the shrimp and grits. Everything was so fresh and delicious. For drinks we ordered the sweet ☕ tea, water with lemon, and 🍷 merlot. After dinner we were all pretty much stuffed silly, so the 4 of us shared the caramel 🍞 bread pudding with vanilla ice 🍦 cream which was divine!!!
The staff were all super duper friendly

The deviled eggs were excellent. Crab cake sandwich needed some help. Good bun, not enough crab meat. Truffle parm fries were pretty good. Nice setting, cool bar in the middle.
