Cross Cultural Health Care
Since 1992, the Cross Cultural Health Care Program has developed effective and efficient training and consulting expertise to help with culturally competent communication and practices across cultures and languages in health care. Our classes and services are geared towards language agencies, medical interpreters, community clinics, hospitals, and other health and human services organizations.

With our widely-renowned Bridging the Gap (BTG) program, we help individuals become professionally trained in medical interpreting, with a choice of either our 40- or 64-hour programs to help qualify for state and national certification. If you are a company seeking to train BTG, we also offer a 40-hour Training of Trainers program.
Services
The mission of The Cross Cultural Health Care Program is to serve as a bridge between communities and health care institutions to advance access to quality health care that is culturally and linguistically appropriate. We provide resources and training for individuals and institutions with the goal of systems change.
Your donation will help us provide scholarships for individuals who want to make a difference in their community as medical interpreters; to help us offer more equity and inclusion trainings to health and human services nonprofit organizations; and to develop new programs and educational materials to address cultural and linguistic barriers to equitable access to quality health care.
Start a new career as a medical interpreter or grow in your current role as a health care worker or patient navigator. Wherever you are in your career, interpreter training is essential to working with limited English proficient patients. As a medical interpreter, you will meet a critical need in the health care system and in your community.
Bridging the Gap (BTG) medical interpreter training was the first 40-hour training program of its kind and continues to be a pioneer in this field. Bridging the Gap set the standard on how to best train individuals to be professional medical interpreters, a legacy that we are proud of and that we seek to grow every day.
The Training of Trainers (ToT) courses provide participants with the curriculum, skills, and expertise necessary to offer Bridging the Gap: Medical Interpreter Training (BTG) at their organizations and in their communities. Become a BTG licensed organization to train internal staff and earn additional revenues by offering the course to qualified individuals in the community with our ready-made curriculum.
